Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

For some, rage might burn like a hot flame, flaring up one moment and dying away the next. For those that follow the Path of the Hunter, theirs is more focused and controlled, like the primal ferocity of a predator. These barbarians master their anger, channeling it to grant them the cunning, keen senses, and deadly skill of a hunter.

Many that follow this path live in the wilderness, using their abilities to provide food for and destroy threats to their tribes. Others operate as monster slayers, bounty hunters, or agents of personal vengeance, tracking down the targets of their fury and eliminating them with brutal efficiency. All of them smolder from within with the fierce intensity of predators.

Seeker of Prey

Starting at 3rd level, you begin to regard your foes as your prey, learning one of the following techniques to guide you on the hunt. Whenever you gain a new primal path feature, you may replace the option you chose with another from this list, keeping any proficiencies you gained.

Follow Trails

You gain proficiency with Survival, have advantage on Wisdom (Survival) checks made to track other creatures, and remain alert to danger even while tracking.

Hunter's Aim

You are proficient with ranged attacks. Both your rage damage bonus and your Reckless Attack feature also apply to ranged attacks made using Strength.

Stalking Predator

You gain proficiency with Stealth, and have advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks made against a single creature that you can see.

Traverse the Wilds

At 6th level, you can move with untamed grace and speed. While you are raging, you have advantage on Dexterity (Acrobatics) checks and Dexterity saving throws. In addition, whenever you take the Dash action, difficult terrain doesn’t cost you extra movement, and your jump height and distance are both doubled that turn.

To gain these benefits, you cannot be wearing heavy armor.

Predatory Tactics

At 10th level, you develop a signature hunting style, choosing one of the following options.

Ambush

Any hit you score against a surprised creature or a creature from which you are hidden counts as a critical hit.

Chase

Immediately after you make an opportunity attack, you can move up to half your speed as part of that reaction. This movement does not provoke opportunity attacks.

Weaken

Once per turn when you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you can impose disadvantage on the next attack roll, ability check, or saving throw that creature makes.

Share the Hunt

At 14th level, you extend your thirst for the thrill of the hunt to those around you. You and any friendly creatures who start their turn within 30 feet of you receive one of the following benefits, based on your current Seeker of Prey choice.

Follow Trails

Can take the Dash action as a bonus action, travel stealthily at a normal pace, and track creatures at a fast pace.

Hunter's Aim

While you rage, add your rage damage bonus to one damage roll of all attacks (this doubles the rage damage that you deal).

Stalking Predator

Have advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks, and make attack rolls against surprised creatures with advantage.
