Paladin
Base Class: Paladin

Oath of Fury paladins are often rebellious and hot tempered in nature, generally with strong anti-authoritarian views, but also usually deeply empathetic and passionately kind to the less fortunate. Sometimes known as punks, thugs, criminals, or even terrorists in extreme cases, but they know the truth; they are freedom fighters, destroying a corrupt system that preys on innocents.

Tenets of Fury

Oath of Fury paladins often vary in wording and structure of their oaths, but all seek to inspire revolution.

Freedom. The innocent shall remain free to live as they choose, at all costs.

Disobedience. A law that binds unethically is a law not to be followed.

Righteous Indignation. Any who would actively bring harm to an innocent is to be destroyed without mercy.

Fight the Power. Any institution that exploits the innocent is to be thoroughly and brutally dismantled.

Channel Divinity

3rd-level Oath of Fury feature

You gain the following two Channel Divinity options. See the Sacred Oath class feature for how Channel Divinity works.

Fiery Passion. As a bonus action, you can use your Channel Divinity to ignite the fires of rebellion in the hearts of your allies. Choose a number of creatures equal to your Charisma modifier within 40 ft. of you. Those creatures gain temporary hit points equal to your paladin level and Charisma modifier and resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage from non-magical weapons. This effect lasts for one minute.

Furious Smite. Whenever you deal damage to a creature with your Divine Smite feature, you can use your Channel Divinity as a bonus action and get a number of additional d8's equal to half of your proficiency modifier (rounded up). After you roll damage, you may choose a number of d8's less than or equal to your Charisma modifier and reroll those dice. You may choose which rolls you use.

Aura of Defiance

7th- and 18th-level Oath of Fury feature

You emanate an aura that inspires others around you to stand their ground in the face of adversity. Allies within 10 ft. of you have advantage on skill checks and saving throws to resist being grappled, pushed, or knocked prone.

When you reach 18th level in this class, the range of the aura increases to 10 feet.

Martyr's Warcry

15th-level Oath of Fury feature

Whenever you witness harm befalling an ally or innocent, a furious warcry comes forth, and for a moment your soul connects with the victim's. Whenever an allied creature you can see within 15 feet of you is hit by an attack roll, you can use your reaction to impose disadvantage on the attack. If the attack still hits, you take half of the damage (rounded up) from the attack, instead of the target of the attack. The target of the attack still takes the other half of the damage.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of once), and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Freedom Fighter

20th-level Oath of Fury feature

Whenever you roll initiative, you may choose to activate this effect. If you choose to activate this effect, you and allies within 50 feet of you gain 2d10+paladin level+Charisma modifier temporary hit points, as the following benefits.

  • You and allies that were in range gain an additional 20 feet to their walking speed.
  • You and allies that were in range do an additional 2d8 radiant damage with all weapon and spell attacks.
  • You and allies within range have resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage.

These effects last until the end of the current combat encounter.

Once you use this feature three times, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest, unless you expend a 5th-level spell slot to use it again.
