Base Class: Wizard
"What? Those creepy quiet idiots cooped up in the Library? They're often called Memorius. It means 'those that remember'. They turn their own minds into a repository of knowledge. Nonetheless it is not a cozy talent to master. 'Those that wish to know of fire should expect to get burned'. Tell me, would you like to always remember you stubbed your toe."
- Grandus, Head Scribe for the Tower of Echoes
Photographic Memory
At 2nd level, the depths of your mind serve as a wellspring of knowledge. You no longer require your spellbook present to change your list of prepared spells, nor do you require it to copy spells to a new spellbook. You still require a spellbook to learn new spells. Also, you can change your list of prepared spells during a short rest.
Recalled Casting
At 2nd level, harnessing the might of your extraordinary memory, you can manifest arcane wonders even in the heat of the moment. You can cast a wizard spell that you know and have added to a spellbook, without having it prepared. You can use this Feature a number of times equal to half your proficiency bonus (rounded down), and you regain all expended uses when you finish a Long Rest..
Memory Shifting
At 6th level, Your memory, finely attuned to the nuances of spellcasting, grants you the ability to shift and adapt the timing of your incantations with remarkable precision. You gain the following benefits:
- When you cast a spell you have prepared with a casting time of 1 Action, you can use your Bonus Action instead.
- When you cast a spell you have prepared with a casting time of 1 Bonus Action, you can use your Action instead.
Additionally, when you would cast a spell with a casting time of 1 minute, you can instead cast it as an Action. When you do, you cannot do so again until you finish a Long Rest. After 14th level, you can gain this benefit with spells of a casting time of up to 10 minutes instead. This effect can not be applied to spells casted as Rituals.
Focused Recollection
At 10th level, your clear control of your memory allows you to manifest and maintain your thoughts to far greater acuity. When you cast a spell using your Recalled Casting Feature, you can temporarily treat that spell as though it is prepared. Preparing a spell this way does not count against the total number of spells you can prepare. This effect lasts until you use Recalled Casting again.
Eidetic Imprinting
At 14th level, you can replicate the technique and mastery you witness from others. When another creature successfully casts a spell of a level you have access to while within your line of sight, you can use your reaction to carefully imprint the motions, patterns, and flow of magic into your mind. To do so, make an Intelligence (Arcana) check against a DC equal to 10 + the spell's level when cast, treating cantrips as if they were level 1 spells. On a successful check, you gain the ability to treat that spell as if it were one you have prepared.
If you have the spell already added to your spellbook, you instantly succeed at preparing the spell. A spell prepared in this way does not count against the total number of spells you can have prepared. However, if you choose to prepare a different spell using this feature, the previously prepared spell is no longer treated as prepared.
While a spell is prepared in this way, you have the option to copy it into your spellbook, regardless of class restrictions. If it is a non-wizard spell, the cost to scribe the spell is doubled. Additionally, you cannot prepare non-wizard spells added to your spellbook through this feature as part of your normal number of spells prepared.
