Base Class: Rogue
When a devoted follower of a god or other divine entity wishes to serve their faith, they are not always assigned the role of a cleric or paladin. Those with the right talent are selected by a member of their order, a celestial serving under their deity, or even their god. They might undertake rigorous training with their sect, have a past with roguish activities or simply have a knack for underhanded tactics. Regardless, an inquisitor is both a capable rogue and holy warrior. As an Inquisitor, you know how to strike at the heart of evil with guile, grace and speed, making use of underhanded tactics to destroy the wicked and the corrupt. You are also blessed with divine power, gaining access to spells normally wielded by clerics or paladin.
Spellcasting
When you reach 3rd level, you gain the ability to cast spells. See Spells Rules for the general rules of spellcasting and the Spells Listing for the cleric and paladin spell list.
Cantrips
You learn three cantrips: thaumaturgy and two other cantrips of your choice from the cleric spell list. You learn another cleric cantrip of your choice at 10th level.
Spell Slots
The Inquisitor Spellcasting table shows how many spell slots you have to cast your cleric spells of 1st level and higher. To cast one of these spells, you must expend a slot of the spell’s level or higher. You regain all expended spell slots when you finish a long rest.
For example, if you know the 1st-level spell bane and have a 1st-level and a 2nd-level spell slot available, you can cast bane using either slot.
Spells Known of 1st-Level and Higher
You can prepare three 1st-level cleric or paladin spells of your choice.
The Spells Known column of the Inquisitor Spellcasting table shows when you can prepare more cleric or paladin spells of 1st level or higher. Each of these spells must be of a level for which you have spell slots. For instance, when you reach 7th level in this class, you can prepare one new spell of 1st or 2nd level. You can change your prepared spells upon finishing a long rest.
Spellcasting Ability
Wisdom is your spellcasting ability for your cleric and paladin spells. Your divine power comes from both a mixture of faith in your cause and the power granted from your god, deity or object of worship. You use your Wisdom whenever a spell refers to your spellcasting ability. In addition, you use your Wisdom modifier when setting the saving throw DC for a cleric or paladin spell you cast and when making an attack roll with one.
Spell save DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier
Spell attack modifier = your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier

Divine Strike
Starting at 3rd level, when you hit a creature with a melee or ranged weapon attack, you can expend one spell slot to deal extra radiant damage to the target, in addition to the weapon’s damage. When you use this ability, you can use your Sneak Attack against the target if you have not already used it this turn. The extra damage is 2d6 for a 1st-level spell slot, plus 1d6
for each spell level higher than 1st, to a maximum of 5d6
. The damage increases by 1d6
if the target is an undead or a fiend, to a maximum of 6d6
.
When you reach 11th level, when you use your divine strike against a target, you can sear their wounds with divine retribution, making them unable to regain hit points until the start of your next turn.
Incandescent
Starting at 9th level, an aura of light constantly surrounds you, protecting you from harm and also making it harder to detect you as it warps to fit the environment around you. You can choose to turn the divine light aura on or off as a bonus action. While it is active, your skin shimmers with radiant light and you have disadvantage on stealth checks while in dim light or darkness. You gain a bonus to your armor class equal to your wisdom modifier while it is active. You are also considered heavily obscured while this ability is active and you are in in bright light, provided the source of the light is farther than 15 feet away from you.
Absolution
By 13th level, your faith in your cause brings you absolution. Through it all, you have been pious and persevered. You are servant to one faith and goal, which no illusion could ever replicate. You are immune to the frightened and charmed condition. Your alignment cannot be changed against your will.
Judgement
When you reach 17th level, you have accumulated enough divine power to decide the ultimate fate of your foes. Once per long rest, when you or one of your allies reduce a creature within 120 feet of you to 0 hit points, you can choose to absolve or condemn them. If the creature has legendary actions, it can make a single Wisdom saving throw with a DC of 25 to avoid the effect.
If you absolve the creature, you either cleanse it of guilt if you are good or neutral aligned, or you corrupt it if you are evil. Regardless, it's alignment now matches your own and it's condition is stabilized. The creature cannot have it's alignment changed for ten years after being absolved in this manner.
If you condemn the creature, you obliterate its soul. The target creature dies in agony and cannot be revived by any means outside of divine intervention.
Additionally, you know when you hear a lie and know the alignment of a creature when you look at it.
