Kineticists are warriors who have discovered the secret of manipulating the vital energy that flows through all living beings. They have learned to channel this energy to create elemental effects, such as fire, lightning or cold. Some kineticists are born with this innate ability, others have acquired it through rigorous training or a traumatic experience. Kineticists are often regarded as prodigies or outcasts, depending on how they use their power. Some use it to protect the innocent, others to satisfy their ambitions. Kineticists are generally independent and confident, but also cautious and responsible. They know that their power has a price, and that they must master it to avoid being consumed by it.

Kinetic Awakening

You have learned to manipulate physical forces with your mind. Starting at level 3 of warrior, you gain the following abilities:

  • Resistance point. You have a number of resistance points equal to your Strength modifier + your proficiency bonus. You can spend these points to trigger various kineticist abilities. You regain all spent resistance points when you finish a short rest. As a bonus action, you can suffer 1d6 points of necrotic damage that cannot be reduced for each resistance point you wish to regain. You can regain up to a number of points equal to your Strength modifier (minimum 1) per this bonus action.

  • Force instability. As a bonus action, you can spend a resistance point to release a shock wave that explodes at a point within 36 meters or less of you. Each creature within a 6-meter radius around the explosion point must succeed on a Constitution saving throw (DC 8 + your Strength modifier + your proficiency bonus) or take 2d8 force damage, or half damage if it succeeds on the save. You can use this ability without spending resistance points once per long rest.

  • Levitation. You can use an action to spend a resistance point and lift yourself into the air or slowly descend to the ground, as if you were under the effect of the Levitate spell.

Kinetic Blast

You gain the following ability at level 7 of warrior:

  • Kinetic projection. When you hit a creature with a melee attack, you can spend a resistance point to deal additional damage of a type of your choice among acid, cold, fire, lightning or thunder. The additional damage is equal to 1d6 + your Strength modifier. In addition, the creature must succeed on a Strength saving throw against the DC of your force instability or be pushed back 3 meters.

Kinetic Shield

You gain the following ability at level 10 of warrior:

  • Elemental resistance. You can use a bonus action to spend a resistance point and gain resistance to a type of damage of your choice among acid, cold, fire, lightning or thunder for 1 minute. You can use this ability without spending resistance points once per long rest.

Kinetic Surge

You gain the following ability at level 15 of warrior:

  • Elemental instability. When you use your force instability, you can spend a resistance point to change the damage type to acid, cold, fire, lightning or thunder. In addition, creatures that fail their saving throw against your force instability suffer an additional effect depending on the damage type chosen:
    • Acid. The creature takes 1d6 acid damage at the start of each of its turns until it succeeds on a Constitution saving throw at the end of one of its turns.
    • Cold. The creature’s speed is halved until the end of your next turn.
    • Fire. The creature ignites and takes 1d6 fire damage at the start of each of its turns until it or another creature uses an action to extinguish the flames.
    • Lightning. The creature cannot take bonus actions or reactions until the end of your next turn.
    • Thunder. The creature is deafened until the end of your next turn.

Kinetic Mastery

You gain the following ability at level 18 of warrior:

  • Kineticist master. You can use your force instability and elemental resistance twice per long rest instead of once. In addition, the additional damage from your kinetic projection increases to 2d6 + your Strength modifier.
