Bard
Base Class: Bard

Harbingers of Chaos are bards who have been corrupted by the wild and unpredictable energies of chaos. They channel this chaotic power through their performances and weave spells that disrupt the natural order of things. Whether it's through dissonant melodies, bewildering illusions, or unpredictable enchantments, Harbingers of Chaos leave a trail of confusion and disorder in their wake.

Bonus Proficiencies At 3rd level, when you choose this subclass, you gain proficiency in the Arcana skill if you don't already have it. Additionally, you gain the Minor Illusion cantrip if you don't already know it.

Disruptive Performance At 3rd level, your performances become infused with chaotic energy, capable of unsettling and bewildering your targets. Whenever you cast a spell of 1st level or higher that deals damage or forces a saving throw, you can use a bonus action to initiate a Disruptive Performance. Choose a number of creatures equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of one) within 30 feet of you. Each chosen creature must make a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failed save, the creature has disadvantage on its next attack roll or saving throw it makes before the start of your next turn.

The number of creatures you can target with Disruptive Performance increases to twice your Charisma modifier at 6th level, three times your Charisma modifier at 14th level, and four times your Charisma modifier at 18th level.

Chaotic Performance At 6th level, your performances become infused with the essence of chaos. As a bonus action, you can expend a use of your Bardic Inspiration to create an aura of chaotic energy that extends 10 feet around you. Any creature of your choice within the aura must roll a d4 and subtract the result from any attack roll or saving throw it makes. However, if the roll is a 1, a surge of chaos occurs, causing an unpredictable effect determined by rolling on the Wild Magic Surge table.

Additionally, when you use your Bardic Inspiration feature, you can choose to expend an extra use of it to enhance the chaos of your ally's actions. The target gains advantage on the roll and has the potential for additional chaotic effects on a roll of 1.

Unpredictable Illusions At 14th level, your illusions become even more bewildering and unpredictable. Whenever you cast an illusion spell of 1st level or higher, you can choose to enhance it with chaotic energy. Any creature that interacts with the illusion, such as by touching or examining it, must make an Intelligence saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failed save, the creature becomes confused for 1 minute. The creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the confusion on a success.
