Base Class: Barbarian
Some barbarians have trained their ability to give life just as much as they train to take it. The rage they conjure in battle fills them with magical restorative energy, allowing them to heal friends while they harm enemies. Barbarians of the Path of Life strive to balance between life and death; for every foe slain, an ally is saved. They believe that healing and violence must go hand in hand. While their ideals are noble, there are few who choose to walk this path.
Emboldening Aura
Starting when you choose this path at 3rd level, your rage magically bolsters your allies on the battlefield. Whenever you go into a rage, you and allies you can see within 30 feet of you gain temporary hit points equal to your level.
Restorative Strike
Starting at 6th level, you learn to channel the raw power of your rage into healing as well as harm. While raging, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn, you can forgo one of your attacks to instead heal. Make a melee weapon attack roll against the AC of one ally you can see within 30 feet of you; on a "hit," they regain hit points equal to 1d6 plus your constitution modifier as your weapon glows with pure life energy.
This increases to 1d8 at 10th level, and to 1d10 at 14th level.
Bond of Life
Your very presence on the battlefield protects your allies from harm. As a reaction, you can magically halve the damage of an attack made on an ally you can see within 30 feet of you, taking the remaining damage yourself. This damage ignores your damage resistance while raging.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Constitution modifier per short rest.
Battle Ward
Also at 10th level, you have learned to share aspects of your rage with your allies. While raging, as a bonus action on your turn, choose one creature you can see within 30 feet of you, other than yourself. Until the end of your next turn, this creature gains resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage.
You can grant this benefit a number of times per short rest equal to half your proficiency bonus, rounded up, and a creature can benefit from this feature only once before a long rest.
Life from Death
At 14th level, your magical connection to the rhythm of life and death grows stronger. While raging, whenever you reduce an enemy to 0 hit points with a melee weapon attack, you automatically regain hit points equal to 1d12 + your Constitution modifier.
