Paladin
Base Class: Paladin

Paladins of the Oath of The Companion are often the most cheery of the bunch. They fight or preach alongside an animal companion, which they have sworn an undying oath to protect. Their companion, in turn, has also sworn an oath to aid their master in any case they may need. These animals are stronger than average due to their holy blood. When a paladin and their animal acquaintance fight alongside one another, the battle is sure to end quickly.

Divine Companion

At level 3, you gain an animal partner that shares your divine energy as a part of your oath. This partner can be any beast with a CR of half of your paladin level or lower, though your DM could allow for any creature you wish. Beastmaster companions available in Tasha's Cauldron of Everything are also viable companions for this feature.

You creature rolls a separate initiative than you, and takes its own full turn listed on its stat block. When your beast drops to 0 hit points, it rolls death saving throws at the start of its turn like any other player. On a success, the companion is revived at 1 hit point. On 3 failures, the beast dies.

Oath Spells

You gain oath spells at the paladin levels listed.

Oath of Devotion Spells

Channel Divinity

When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options.

Heal Beast. As an action, you give your animal companion a surge of divine adrenaline to help aid its wounds. Your beast immediately heals hit points equal to 2d8 + your Charisma modifier, as long as it is not dead.

Recall Companion. As an action, you bring your companion closer to you by syncing your divine energy together. As long as you can see your animal companion and it isn't dead, you can use this feature. Your animal magically teleports to an unoccupied space within 5 feet of you.

Aura of Companionship

Starting at 7th level, you and friendly creatures within 10 feet of you have an additional 10 feet added to their base movement speed.

At level 18, this increases to all friendly creatures within 30 feet of you.

Holy Ally

At level 15, your companion can now tap into some of your own divine energy. Whenever your beast strikes a target, you may activate a Divine Smite. The rules for Divine Smite stay as normal(the damage and spell slot requirements are unchanged), but they are now carried out by your beast, with the spell slot being taken by yourself to use. In addition, your beast can use its action to Lay on Hands an ally, drawing from your pool to do so.

Indomitable Pair

At level 20, the divine oath and bond between you and your companion is stronger than ever. Your beast companion now gains your Aura of Companionship, surrounding it at all times. In addition, your beast shares your proficiencies and modifiers for its saving throws.
