Oni

The Oni can earn a maximum of 8 blood tokens, this is their primary resource for their abilities. Exiting combat removes all remaining tokens. 

Earning tokens

The Oni has two methods of gaining tokens.

Every time the Oni lands a successful attack on an enemy, they earn 1 blood token. Upon failing a dc 12+strength con save, apply the unique status effect hemorrhage. 

Every turn an enemy has the hemorrhage status effect they drop 1 blood token. The Oni can take a bonus action to collect all blood tokens within a 25 ft cone in front of them.

The hemorrhage status effect

An afflicted creature may choose to take their turn to remove the effect. (Said creature will still drop 1 blood token for this turn)

A friendly creature may choose to use a bonus action to heal the afflicted creature upon succeeding a medicine check of 12+1 for every 2 levels in the Oni subclass.

The Kanabō

This weapon is unique to the Oni subclass and is granted upon leveling into it.

All attacks for the Kanabō are specific to the special ability Blood Fury and may not be used outside of it.

 

 

Block

Your rage heightens your awareness, allowing you to react to your opponents moves with ease.

Costs 2 Blood Tokens.

Blood Fury

Using Blood Fury counts as a bonus action. 

To use Blood Fury, the Oni will consume all 8 tokens. During Blood Fury the Oni receives all standard rage bonuses.

The Oni may also use their special weapon the Kanabō.

The Oni receives 2 full rounds of combat when in Blood Fury.

While in Blood Fury damage will not contribute to token gain nor will it apply the hemorrhage status effect. The Oni may also not use their bonus action to collect additional Blood Tokens.

 

 

The Kanabō

This is a weapon specific to the Oni and may only be used while in Blood Fury.

Mighty shot

You have become adept with bows and are able to control your rage into a shot capable of great destruction.

This ability costs 2 blood tokens to use.

Demon dash

During Blood Fury the Oni now has double their base movement speed. 

Multi Slash

You channel your rage into unparalleled speed. 

Grants 2 extra attacks for this turn. (These two extra attacks do not drop Blood Tokens, nor do they apply the hemorrhage status effect)

Ground slam

Your Kanabō strikes the ground sending a shockwave through the battlefield. (May only be used during Blood Fury)

Mass Collection

You reflect on the bloodshed before you. 

Take an action to collect all dropped blood tokens withing an 80 foot sphere around you. May only be used once per battle. 

Every token gained above the maximum of 8 grants you 4 temporary hitpoints. 

Curse of the Oni

Your fury wells inside you and you let out a shout heard across the battlefield. The power of your rage manifests itself all around you, eating away at your foes.
