Base Class: Monk
Monks of the Way of the Sleeping Fist dream very regularly and use them as a training grounds. Those training under this monastic tradition take care to temper their minds such that they are completely lucid when sleeping and always remember their dreams. They liken dreams to demiplanes which they travel to when they sleep and utilize their ki to draw from this world. They often serve those outside their monasteries as advisors on matters of the meanings of dreams.
Lucid Mind
When you choose this tradition at 3rd level you gain complete control over your own sleep and are granted immunity to being put to sleep by magical means if you aren't already. In addition, when you are asleep you are completely aware of your immediate surroundings
Dreaming Technique
Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you may channel the power of dreams with your ki to inflict blissful fantasies or hideous nightmares on a creature. Whenever you hit a creature with one of the attacks granted by your Flurry of Blows, you can impose one of the following effects on that target:
- It must succeed on a Charisma saving throw or become incapacitated until the end of its turn.
- It must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or use all of its movement to run away from you in terror.
Surreal Shift
At 6th level, you gain the ability to shift you and one other creatures position. As an action, you can use a ki point make your form shimmering and spectral and glide a number of feet equal to four times your monk level. You can move through solid objects but must be able to see where you're teleporting.
Soporific Strike
Beginning at 11th level, your stunning strikes interrupt the ki in your targets mind rather than their body. When a creature would be stunned by your Stunning Strike feature they fall asleep and become unconscious for 1 minute. The creature awakens if another creature uses an action to awaken them or they take damage.
Eternal Slumber
At 17th level, you gain the ability to manipulate the ki in a creature's mind such that you can put a sleeping creature in a comatose state. When you touch a sleeping creature as an action, you can spend 2 ki points to attempt to render its sleep permanent. It must make a Charisma saving throw. If it fails, it is permanently unconscious. If it succeeds the amount of time it would take for it to naturally wake up is doubled and it is immune to this feature for 5 days.
While under this effect the creature does not age, does not require food or water, and has resistance to all damage types except psychic damage. This affect can be lifted by you as a bonus action or by the spells; remove curse, greater restoration, or wish.
