Base Class: Barbarian
The Path of the Bloodthirster is a barbarian subclass that delves deep into the realm of blood magic and taps into the primordial power flowing through the veins of all living beings. Barbarians who follow this path embrace the raw intensity of their own life force, using it to fuel their rage and amplify their physical prowess. Through a profound connection to blood, these warriors unlock abilities that manipulate the vital essence within themselves and their enemies, harnessing its power to devastating effect.
At the core of the Bloodthirster's arsenal is the ability to draw strength from their own blood. When entering a rage, they can willingly inflict wounds upon themselves, sacrificing a portion of their health to gain a surge of temporary hit points. This symbiotic relationship between pain and power allows Bloodbinders to push beyond their limits and withstand incredible punishment in the heat of battle. Furthermore, their connection to the essence of life itself grants them an innate resilience against charms and fear, empowering them to stand firm against even the most insidious magical influences.
As Bloodthirsters delve deeper into their path, they learn to channel their innate blood magic into their strikes. By sacrificing a portion of their own life force with each attack, they infuse their blows with necrotic energy, causing additional damage to their foes. This infusion of destructive power becomes even more potent when their attacks bring their enemies to the brink of death, as the Bloodbinder's vitality is replenished by the life force they've snuffed out. This reciprocal dance of sacrifice and rejuvenation fuels their relentless pursuit of victory on the battlefield.
In their mastery of blood magic, Bloodthirsters can form powerful Blood Pacts, forging unbreakable bonds with other creatures. By sharing their own life force, both the Bloodbinder and their chosen ally gain temporary hit points, strengthening their resilience in the face of adversity. This mutual support extends to combat, granting them an advantage against those who have dared to harm them. At the pinnacle of their abilities, Bloodthirsters can unleash a catastrophic Blood Nova, sacrificing a substantial portion of their life force to create a devastating explosion of necrotic energy, leaving their enemies stunned and reeling from the unleashed power of blood magic.
