Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

Harnessing the boundless energies of the ethereal realm, the Ethereal Vanguard walks the line between the physical and spiritual planes. They draw upon the intangible essence of their surroundings, manifesting it as ethereal energy that shields them from harm and fuels their retaliatory strikes. With each hit absorbed and countered, their connection to the spectral realm grows stronger, granting them resilience and spectral fortitude. As they face adversity, their very essence becomes a resurgent spirit, defying death's grasp and rising from the brink of oblivion. Masters of the ethereal weave, the Ethereal Vanguard stands as a spectral guardian, a warrior attuned to the shifting boundaries between the material and the beyond.

Ethereal Resiliance

  • You have a pool of ethereal energy, represented by temporary hit points, equal to your proficiency bonus plus your Constitution modifier. These temporary hit points are replenished after completing a short or long rest.
  • At the start of your turn, if you have no temporary hit points, you gain temporary hit points equal to your Constitution modifier. If you are below half of your maximum hit points, this amount is doubled.

Ephemeral Riposte

  • When you take damage from a creature within 5 feet of you, you can use your reaction to spend a number of your temporary hit points up to your Constitution modifier. Roll a d6 for each temporary hit point spent and unleash ethereal energy as a counterattack. Deal that amount of damage to the creature that damaged you. The damage is of the same type as the attack that hit you.

Phantasmal Sacrifice

  • Instead of taking a regular movement action, you can choose to make a Phantasmal Sacrifice. By doing so, you can sacrifice hit points up to your current level in the Fighter class.
  • For each hit point sacrificed in this way, you gain one temporary hit point. These ethereal temporary hit points last until they are depleted or until you complete a short or long rest.

Spectral Fortitude

  • You gain resistance to non-magical bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage. Additionally, whenever you gain temporary hit points from your Ethereal Resilience feature, you regain hit points equal to your Constitution modifier.

Resurgent Spirit

  • When you are reduced to 0 hit points, you can make a Constitution saving throw with a DC of 5 + the damage taken. On a success, your ethereal essence prevails, and you drop to 1 hit point. You gain temporary hit points equal to the total of your roll.
  • You can use this feature once per long rest.
