Bard
Base Class: Bard

You come from a distant timeline where music disappeared and darkened the world for the worse. In an attempt to preserve the songs of the past, your college sends its students to travel the timeline and cultivate music for future generations.

Singer's Microphone

Starting at 3rd level, you can use any object you can hold made of metal or crystal as a focus for your bard spells. The object empowers the strength of your voice three times over while held close to your mouth.

Preserved Recording

Also starting at 3rd level, as an action you can record all audible noises within 60 feet of you for one minute. Afterwards, a tiny music disc appears in your possession with the recorded audio ingrained into it. A creature with a disc in hand can use an action to emanate its recording at a comfortable volume audible up to 30 feet. It sounds completely real, although unlikely sounds like running water in the plane of fire, for instance, may provoke a creature to use its action to examine the noise with a successful Intelligence (Investigation) check against your spell save DC. If they succeed, the sound becomes faint and distorted to them. You can have up to three music discs created at any time. Creating an additional disc causes the oldest one to disappear.

Restorative Voice

Also at 3rd level, whenever you give a creature a Bardic Inspiration die, that creature can attempt a saving throw against a spell or magical effect currently affecting them. The magic must normally allow for repeat saving throws to be made to end them.

Oral Tradition

Starting at 6th level, during a short rest you can teach a song to a creature. Choose a spell that requires vocal components and no material components that you have prepared. For one hour the chosen creature can hum the song to cast the spell using your spell slots, and uses your Charisma for the spell’s attacks and saving throws.

Once you teach a creature a song in this way, you can’t do so again until you finish a short or long rest.

Musical Breakthrough

Also starting at 6th level, any creatures of your choice within 60 feet of you can always hear your voice and any musical instruments you play, can identify the sounds as uniquely yours, and can pinpoint your exact location.

Forgotten Melody

Starting at 14th level, you can begin to uncover forgotten songs of the past. You can change the spells gained from your Magical Secrets class feature whenever you finish a long rest. Spells learned using this feature gain the vocal component, and must be at least one level higher or lower than the spell you plan to change.

Additionally, whenever you cast a bard spell you’ve never cast before, you can give a Bardic Inspiration die to every creature of your choice within 10 feet of you. This doesn’t count against the number of Bardic Inspiration dice you can normally give.
