Base Class: Warlock
You have made a pact with the Cabbage King, a colossal and malevolent cabbage that lurks in the depths of Undermountain. The Cabbage King is a master of plant and fungal magic, and seeks to spread his influence over the surface world. He grants you a portion of his power in exchange for your service and loyalty.
As a verdant horror, you use your magic to create and manipulate plants and fungi, and to inflict spores and curses on your enemies. You can grow cabbages in secret locations throughout the city, which act as spies and agents for the Cabbage King. You can also summon a loyal cabbage companion that obeys your commands. You can release a cloud of spores that infect your enemies with the essence of the Cabbage King, making them vulnerable to your spells and features. You can transform yourself into a giant cabbage, gaining immunity to damage and the ability to bite your foes. You can also cast spells that reflect your patron's plant and fungal nature, such as entangle, blight, and contagion.
You are a horror to behold, and a herald of the Cabbage King's coming. You seek to destroy and corrupt the institutions of Waterdeep, such as the Lords of Waterdeep, the City Watch, the guilds, and the churches. You recruit more members from among the fearful and desperate citizens of Waterdeep, who feel oppressed or threatened by the authorities. You prepare for the day when the Cabbage King will burst out
Cultivator
You have learned how to cultivate and manipulate plants and fungi, using your magic and your knowledge of nature. You gain the following benefits:
- You gain proficiency in the Nature skill and with herbalism kits. You can use your herbalism kit to create potions of healing and other plant-based concoctions, as well as identify and harvest useful plants and fungi.
- You can use your action to touch a plant or fungus within 5 feet of you and cause it to grow rapidly. You can use this feature to create difficult terrain, provide cover, or create other effects as determined by the DM. For example, you could make a vine wrap around an enemy, a flower bloom with a pleasant or unpleasant scent, or a mushroom release a cloud of spores. The effects of this feature last for 1 minute, unless you end them early as a bonus action.
- You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of once), and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
This feature reflects your connection to the Cabbage King and his plant and fungal magic. You can use it to aid yourself and your allies, or to hinder and harm your enemies
Expanded Spell List
The Cabbage King lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you.
Spell Level Spells
1st entangle, goodberry
2nd barkskin, spike growth
3rd plant growth, speak with plants
4th blight, grasping vine
5th awaken, contagion
Cabbage Companion
you gain the ability to summon a loyal cabbage companion that obeys your commands. As an action, you can magically summon a cabbage that has the same statistics as a pseudodragon, except that it is a plant instead of a dragon, and it has immunity to poison damage and the poisoned condition. The cabbage appears in an unoccupied space within 30 feet of you. It acts on its own initiative and has a telepathic bond with you as long as it is within 100 feet of you. You can communicate telepathically with the cabbage and perceive through its senses as an action. The cabbage remains until it is reduced to 0 hit points, until you dismiss it as an action, or until you are incapacitated or die.
Cabbage Spores
you can release a cloud of spores that infect your enemies with the essence of the Cabbage King. As an action, choose a point within 30 feet of you. A 15-foot-radius cloud of spores spreads from that point. Each creature in the cloud must make a Constitution saving throw against your warlock spell save DC or be infected for 1 minute. While infected, the creature has disadvantage on saving throws against your warlock spells and features, and whenever it takes damage from you or one of your allies, it must succeed on another Constitution saving throw or be stunned until the end of its next turn.
Cabbage Swarm
Cabbage Swarm At 14th level, you can transform yourself into a swarm of cabbages as an action. You gain the following benefits while in this form:
- Your size becomes Medium, and your weight is negligible.
- You have immunity to poison damage and the poisoned condition.
- You have resistance to non-magical physical damage.
- You can occupy another creature's space and vice versa, and you can move through any opening large enough for a cabbage.
- You can't be grappled, restrained, or prone.
- You can make one swarm attack as an action, dealing 4d6 + your Charisma modifier piercing damage on a hit. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a Strength saving throw against your warlock spell save DC or be knocked prone.
- You can use your Cultivator feature without expending uses.
