Wizard
Base Class: Wizard

The arcane focus is an important device for a number of wizards. And so, a few of them decide to improve it, allowing them to have a much more reliable methods of casting their spells. The focuses of focus mages are typically large and take the shape of a staff.

Stable Spells

Starting at 2nd level, you have enhanced your arcane focus to allow for stable usage of your spells. You gain the ability to hold a spell for 1 minute, while holding a spell you cannot cast any other spell or take actions.

Focus Points

At 2nd level, you gain Focus Points. Focus Points can be used in place of spell slots expended in Focus Mage features. Each Focus Point counts as a 1st level spell slot, but they can be spent together to act as higher level spell slots. So, you can spend 3 Focus Points and have them act as a 3rd level spell slot. You have a number of focus points equal to your proficiency bonus. You regain all of your Focus Points back at the end of a long rest.

Advanced Focus

At 2nd level, you gain an advanced arcane focus. When you don't have your focus equipped, you lose all of the features of this subclass, however you can instantly teleport your focus into your hands as a bonus action. Your focus has a unique casting method, select only one of the following options, you can only change this any time you level up:

Blasting Focus

Your arcane focus allows for you to inject more magic into your spells, providing more power behind them. Once per turn, before you cast a spell that deals damage and has a duration of instantaneous, you may choose to expend another spell slot of 1st level or higher, to roll the damage dice twice and take the higher result.

Disrupting Focus

Your arcane focus is designed to near perfectly intercept other spells. You can cast counterspell using lower leveled spell slots, however you must expend a number of spell slots so that their combined level is equal to the level of spell slot you cast counterspell at. For example, you could cast counterspell at level 3 you could expend three 1st level spell slots instead of a 3rd level spell slot. You gain counterspell.

Homing Focus

Your arcane focus allows you to empower your spells so that they are unlikely to fail. As a bonus action, when you cast a spell that requires an attack roll or requires the target to make a saving throw you may expend one spell slot, that is at one level lower than the spell cast, to give the attack roll advantage or the saving throw disadvantage.

Sculpting Focus

Your arcane focus allows you to change the shape of your spells. When casting an area of effect spell, you may expend a spell slot to change the shape of the spell. The size of each shape is determined by the size of the original shape, here are the ratios: sphere to line (1:5), sphere to cube (1:2), sphere to cone (1:3), sphere to cylinder (1:1), line to cube (5:2), line to cone (5:3), line to cylinder (5:1), cube to cone (2:3), cube to cylinder (2:1), cone to cylinder (3:1). For example, you can expend a 1st level spell slot or higher to change a Fireball you cast from a 20-foot sphere into a 100-foot line.

For cylinders, the radius is used in conversion. The height is twice that of the radius when converting into a cylinder.

Sniping Focus

Your arcane focus allows for the far casting of spells. Ranged spells have their range doubled.

Splitting Focus

Your arcane focus is specialized for splitting cantrips. When you cast a cantrip that targets one creature, you can choose to expend a spell slot, of 1st level or higher, to target an additional creature for each level of spell slot.

Storing Focus

Your arcane focus is capable of holding a spell for quite a long amount of time without much effort from you. At any time, you may cast one spell and store it in your focus. That spell remains inside the focus until you release it, purge it, or you become unconscious. Upon purging it or becoming unconscious, the spell fizzles out harmlessly. You can release the spell as a reaction or bonus action.

Syphoning Focus

Your arcane focus acts as an arcane funnel, allowing you to sometimes absorb an incoming spell. As a reaction when you are affected by a spell, you may gain a 1st level spell slot back. If you were to gain a 1st level spell slot past the max number of 1st level spell slots that you can have, then you instead gain 1 Focus Point. You cannot gain more Focus Points than your maximum.

Improved Concentration

At 6th level, you gain the ability to use your magic to maintain concentration. As a reaction when you fail a concentration check, you may expend a spell slot equal to the concentration spell that you attempting to maintain, to roll another concentration check. On a success, your concentration spell is maintained.

Spell Syphoning

At 10th level, your arcane focus allows you to syphon magic to and from other creatures. When you are touching a creature, you may spend an action to give or take a spell slot, that is no higher than 5th level, to or from another creature. If you are attempting to steal a spell slot from a creature that is unwilling, they must make an saving throw (the type of saving throw they make is based on their spellcasting ability) against your spell save DC. On a success, they do not lose a spell slot.

If a creature no longer has a spell slot of the level that is attempting to be taken, then the next lowest level is taken instead. If a creature either has no more spell slots or cannot be given the spell slot being transferred, then nothing happens.

Perfect Concentration

At 14th level, your concentration has become exceptional. While you have your focus you can have up to two concentration spells going at once. However, when you roll a concentration saving throw you only roll once and on a failure both concentration spells fail.
