Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

The Guerrilla Fighter is one that has learned how to fight while facing far more powerful opponents and seemingly impossible odds. Many of them are members of freedom fighters battling foreign invaders, while others might be revolutionaries seeking to change the injustices they face through force. Whatever the case, Guerrillas employ unique tactics to harry and wear down their foes.

Instead of brute force or direct confrontation, an archetypal Guerrilla relies on superior mobility and the element of surprise to prevail in battle. By striking quickly and unexpectedly, then vanishing without a trace before their opponents can recover, these fighters can be nuisances to the greatest of enemies—and ones that turn deadly to those who would underestimate them.

Gift of the Rebellion

When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you gain one of the following features of your choice.

Bonus Proficiency

You gain proficiency in either Deception, Sleight of Hand, or Stealth.

Fearlessness

Your zeal for your cause leaves no room for cowardice. You have advantage on saving throws against being frightened.

Secret Language

You learn an additional language used by members of your resistance movement. This language can be a secret language, such as Thieves’ Cant, Druidic, or some type of code.

Raiding Tactics

Also at 3rd level, you learn how to strike without warning and then escape before harm can come to you. You have advantage on attack rolls against any creature that hasn’t taken a turn in combat yet, and any hit you score against a creature that is surprised counts as a critical hit.

In addition, whenever you take either the Dash or Disengage action in combat, you gain the benefits of the other of these two actions.

Elusion

Starting at 7th level, you become more adept at foiling your enemies’ attempts at pursuit. Your walking speed increases by 10 feet, and you gain one of the following features of your choice.

You cannot receive any of the benefits of this feature if you are wearing heavy armor.

Daring Escape

You gain a climbing speed equal to your walking speed. You can make a running jump after spending only 5 feet of movement, and when you do so, the distance you can cover increases by a number of feet equal to your Strength modifier.

Melt Away

You can take the Hide action as a bonus action on each of your turns, and you can attempt to hide even when you are only lightly obscured.

Nimble Stride

Moving through nonmagical difficult terrain costs you no extra movement.

Ever Wary

Beginning at 10th level, the constant presence of danger has honed your instincts for battle to a razor’s edge. You have advantage on initiative rolls, and you can never be surprised while you are conscious.

Veteran's Technique

At 15th level, you have developed a signature method for defeating your opponents. You gain one of the following features of your choice.

Diversion

If you take the Attack action, you can forgo one of your attacks to distract one creature that can see or hear you. All attack rolls against that creature are made with advantage until the start of your next turn.

Dominating Presence

You have advantage on all Charisma checks made during combat.

Opportunist

Whenever a creature within 5 feet of you is hit by an attack, you can make one melee attack against the creature as a reaction.

Turn the Tide

Starting at 18th level, your sheer unpredictability in combat can shift the balance of a battle. At the end of one of your turns in combat, you can choose to force all creatures engaged in that combat to reroll their initiative. Fighting then resumes with the new initiative order, counting as the first round of combat, and any creature that has not yet taken a turn in this new order counts as surprised.

You can use this feature once, and you regain the ability to do so when you next roll initiative normally at the start of combat. You cannot use this feature during the first round of any combat.
