Rogue
Base Class: Rogue

Your mind is constantly analyzing every variable you can observe. You have delved for hours into training manuals, watched combat ranging from armies en masse, illegal pit fighting, to gladiatorial arenas. With practice, you can position your body according to statistics that have been driven so deeply into your subconscious that it becomes muscle memory.

Statistics are your shield, numbers, your sword. Everything scenario can be converted to numbers, numbers can be parsed. What has been parsed can be acted on, to inflict maximum damage while incurring the minimum probability of an effective return strike.

Stastical Kata

You are able to instantly analyze and react to situations as they develop. As a free action, you enter a calm, calculating trance. While in this trance you add your Intelligence modifier to your damage and to your Wisdom(Insight) and Intelligence(Investigation) rolls. You may add half your Intelligence modifier (rounded up) to your Initiative. This trance lasts for 1 minute, until you don medium/heavy armor, or choose to end it. While in this stance, you are unable to cast or concentrate on spells. You may use this ability a number of times equal to your intelligence modifier, and regain all uses on a long rest.

Proficiency or Expertise in Investigation

You gain proficiency in the Investigation skill. If you are already proficient, you gain expertise for that skill.

Insightful Mind

Starting at 9th level, if you spend at least 1 minute observing or interacting with another creature outside combat, you can learn certain information about its capabilities compared to your own. The DM tells you if the creature is your equal, superior, or inferior in regard to two of the following characteristics of your choice:

  • Intelligence score
  • Wisdom score
  • Dexterity score
  • Class levels (if any)
  • AC
  • WIS(Perception)

At the DM’s option, you might also realize you know a piece of the creature’s history or one of its personality traits, if it has any.

Retaliation

Beginning at 13th level, when you are targeted by an attack, you may use your reaction to impose disadvantage on the attack roll. If that creature is within the normal range of your currently held weapon, you may make a single weapon attack against that creature.

Living Kata

Starting at 17th level, Your mind is a weapon. Your thoughts cannot be read by any means unless you allow it. Additionally, you gain blind sense to a range of 15 feet while you are conscious as you analyze the motion of the environment.
