Wizard
Base Class: Wizard

While some wizards went out and learned spells through adventure, you stayed in the library and found your adventures there in the books. The Heterocera became your only acquaintances, showering you in the only affection you needed. Also dust, and lots of it. The scholars which follow this school become spiritually bonded with the plane-shifting, arcane-book-eating moths that traverse the halls.

Xylophage

Beginning when you select this school at 2nd level, the time you must spend to copy a spell into your spellbook is halved, costs no gold, and can be done by consuming the original writing of the spell. The spells consumed by this feature can be from any class, and are added to the wizard's spellbook as if they were a wizard spell.

Planar Moths

You control a number of inter-planar moths equal to your Wizard level + Proficiency Bonus. At the end of each long rest, any moths sent back to their plane of origin find their way back to you.

Moth Dust

Whenever you successfully cast a spell, you may send one moth back to its original plane and cause that spell to spawn a cloud of dust within 5 ft. of the center of the target. (5 ft. square, creatures can move through it, AC 10) When spawned, the dust cloud will have one of three random effects, decided by a d6 roll. On a 1-2 the dust cloud will heal any creature who enters it by 1d6. On a 3-4 the dust cloud will cause the creature to take 1d6 damage of the same type as the spell. On a 5-6 the dust cloud will cause the eyes of any creature who enters it to become irritated, forcing them to make a CON Save (decided by your spell save DC), which upon failure causes the creature to become blinded until the end of your next turn. If the Dust Cloud takes damage, or if a creature sharing the same space takes damage, each creature within 5 ft of the cloud will be affected by the properties of the cloud. The clouds last 3 turns or until damaged.

Scout Moth

You may send out one moth you control to scout the area. (Tiny Beast, AC 13, HP 1. All stats are 6, except for 12 DEX) You can control the moth and see and hear through it. You can cast a first level spell or cantrip from the moth as though you were casting it by sending another moth you control back to its plane of origin. Afterwards, the Scout Moth is destroyed.

Arcanophage

You can send any number of moths you control back to their plane of origin to gain spell slots of a level equal to the number spent, and you can spend a spell slot to summon moths from the planes equal to one less than the level of spell slot spent.

Dust Blood

You may control any number of dust clouds at once.
