Wizard
Base Class: Wizard

In the ancient lore of the Elder Days, when the Music of the Ainur still echoed in the depths of time, there dwelt those who mastered the most subtle of arts - the weaving of time itself. These sage-craftsmen, learned in the deep mysteries of what the elves named londë-mára (the flowing-good), perceived the very threads that bind moment to moment, much as the great weavers of Vairë perceive the tapestries of history.

Through their profound understanding of the School of Divination, they gained power to change what might be called the anticipatory force - that quicksilver power that flows betwixt what was and what shall be - these loremasters learned to bend the very stream of time, much as the bard might bend the strings of his instrument to birth forth melody.

In this art, they say, lies echoes of the power that was wielded in the First Age, when the world was young and time itself flowed like fresh water from the mountains, ere it grew sluggish with the weight of years uncounted.

First Mover Advantage

Starting at 2nd level, add your Intelligence modifiers to initiative rolls for yourself and your familiar.

Time Cocoon

Upon attaining the sixth level of mastery, you gain the power to project a containing force. Using your action, you can attempt to envelop a creature no larger than Large size that you can perceive within 60 feet. The target must test its physical fortitude against your magical prowess by making a Constitution saving throw versus your spell save DC. On a failed save, the target becomes imprisoned within a cocoon of arcane energy. This containment persists until either your next turn concludes, or the target suffers any amount of harm. A contained creature cannot take actions or reactions, and is unable to move.

This ability can be employed a quantity of times matching your Intelligence modifier, with a minimum of one use. After completing a long rest, you recover all spent uses of this power.

Spell Bead

Upon reaching your tenth circle of power, you gain mastery over an extraordinary art: you may crystallize spells of the fourth magnitude or lesser into a shimmering, opalescent, pearl sized sphere. As you complete the casting, you capture the magic at the precise instant of its manifestation, preserving it within a pearl-like orb of slate-colored energy. This mystical construct persists for one hour's time, existing as a minuscule object that proves remarkably resilient with its protective rating of 15, though it can be shattered if dealt more than a single point of harm. The sphere shows complete immunity to toxins and mental assaults. Should the hour elapse or the sphere be broken, it dissipates in a brilliant burst, the stored magic lost to the ether.

Any being who holds this arcane pearl may invest their action to unleash the imprisoned spell, causing the sphere to dissolve as the magic takes effect. Though you are the original architect of the magic, with your mastery determining both its accuracy and potency, the one who releases the spell is considered its caster in all other aspects.

The creation of such a sphere draws deeply upon your magical reserves - you must complete either a brief or extended period of rest before you can manifest another.

Alternate Future

Through mastery of temporal manipulation, upon reaching the pinnacle of your studies (level 14), you gain the power to sift through potential timelines and manifest the most favorable outcome. As a reaction, when you witness a creature within 60 feet attempt an attack, check their capabilities, or resist an effect, you may bypass the randomness of fate. Instead of accepting the die's verdict, you may declare the result to be either exactly what was needed for success, or fall frustratingly short by a single digit.

However, such manipulation of destiny takes a grave toll. Each time you exercise this power, your body and mind become strained, afflicting you with exhaustion. This particular form of fatigue can only be shaken off after a full night's rest.
