Druid
Base Class: Druid

You develop a symbiotic bond to a brood of dragons. When you choose this subclass, choose a dragon ancestry: black, blue, brass, bronze, copper, gold, green, red, silver, white, amethyst, emerald, sapphire, solar, lunar.

The chosen ancestry influences how your draconic power develops. As you gain levels in this subclass, you will be able to transform into a dragon with the same ancestry as your brood.

In addition, you always have the spells Dragon's Breath and Draconic Transformation prepared, and they are druid spells for you and do not count against your known spells. You still need to have a spell slot of the appropriate level in order to cast them.

Dragon Breath

When you choose this circle at 2nd level, you gain the ability to breathe the element associated with your selected dragon type. You gain the breath weapon ability, detailed below. If you already have the ability or are granted it via spell or potion (but not both), the range is increased by 30 feet, provided the element is the same as the one chosen for this subclass.

Breath Weapon. You can use your action to exhale destructive energy. It deals damage in an area according to your ancestry. When you use your breath weapon, all creatures in the area must make a saving throw, the type of which is determined by your ancestry. The DC of this saving throw is 8 + your Constitution modifier + your proficiency bonus. A creature takes 2d6 damage on a failed save, and half as much damage on a successful one. The damage increase to 3d6 at 6th level, 4d6 at 11th, and 5d6 at 16th level. You may use your breath weapon a number of times equal to your Constitution modifier. You regain expended uses on a short or long rest.

Draconic Wildshape

Starting at 2nd level, you can expend 2 uses of your wildshape to take the form of a dragon. The dragon must have the same ancestry as your choice for the subclass, and its age is determined by your druid level according to the table below. In addition, your wildshaped dragon's hitpoints are calculated as if it had a number of hitdice equal to half your druid level (rounded up), plus half your druid level (rounded up) times its constitution modifier:

DRUID LEVEL SPELLS

2nd

wyrmling

9th

Young dragon

13th

Adult dragon

17th

Ancient dragon

20th

Greatwyrm

If the wildshape ends early due to falling unconscious or reaching 0 hit points, you suffer 2 levels of exhaustion.

The blue dragon wyrmling is included as an example of an initial option for wildshape if your chosen ancestry was blue.  For a 5th level druid, Its hitdice are d8s, and its consitution modifier is +2. Its hitpoints would then be 3*(5) + 3*(2) = 21 hp

Circle Spells

Your mystical connection to your brood infuses you with the ability to cast certain spells. At 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 9th level you gain access to circle spells connected to the ancestry of your brood. Choose that ancestry — black, blue, brass, bronze, copper, gold, green, red, silver, white, amethyst, emerald, sapphire, solar, lunar — and consult the associated list of spells.

Once you gain access to a circle spell, you always have it prepared, and it doesn’t count against the number of spells you can prepare each day. If you gain access to a spell that doesn’t appear on the druid spell list, the spell is nonetheless a druid spell for you.

Minor Manifestation

Starting at 6th level, you gain a 30 ft. fly speed thanks to draconic wings that have grown to resemble those of your chosen brood's ancestry.

Draconic Sight

When you reach 10th level, you gain Blindsight 30 ft. and Darkvision 120 ft.

Dominate Dragon

When you reach 14th level, you can attempt to dominate a dragon through sheer force of will. As an action, choose a dragon within 500 feet whose age is equal to or less than your draconic wildshape option at your current druid level. It must make a CHA saving throw (DC 8+WIS+proficiency). On failure, it is charmed and frightened by you for 24 hours. On success, you become frightened instead until the target dies or you finish a long rest, and you cannot attempt to dominate the same target for 24 hours.

Dragons that share an ancestry with your brood make the save at disadvantage and cannot use legendary resistance to automatically succeed, instead spending a legendary resistance to gain advantage; this is on top of the disadvantage, making it a straight roll.

The target is aware of this effect and knows it was charmed when the effect ends and may become hostile.
