Base Class: Barbarian
In the darkest corners of the world, a primal and fearsome path of rage is followed by warriors seeking to awaken the dormant power of dragons within them. These fierce Barbarians are known as the Path of the Draconic Rage, and they form an unbreakable bond with the ancient and elemental forces of dragonkind.
As they delve into this path, the Barbarians become vessels of draconic essence, aligning themselves with one of five powerful dragon lineages: the Red Dragon, the White Dragon, the Blue Dragon, the Green Dragon, or the Black Dragon. Each lineage embodies distinct elemental aspects, and the Barbarians' melee attacks become infused with the fury of their chosen draconic ancestry.
When these warriors enter a rage, their strikes deal additional damage of the same type as their Draconic Essence, unleashing torrents of dragon's flames, freezing blasts, crackling bolts of lightning, venomous strikes, or caustic dragon acid upon their foes. This energy also grants them resistance to the associated elemental damage, enabling them to endure the forces they harness in battle.
As they progress on this path, the essence of dragons courses through their veins, transforming them into a fearsome embodiment of the dragon's might. At the pinnacle of their power, the Barbarians achieve Draconic Ascendance, an awe-inspiring transformation that activates automatically when they rage. In this heightened state, their melee attacks unleash devastating damage of their Draconic Essence's type, and they gain the ability to soar through the air with the grace of a dragon's flight.
Beyond their destructive prowess, the mere presence of a Path of Draconic Rage Barbarian becomes an intimidating force. Their Draconic Presence feature allows them to roar fiercely, striking fear into the hearts of their enemies and granting them the upper hand in tense encounters.
As they grow more attuned to their draconic lineage, their resilience against harmful effects strengthens. They gain advantage on saving throws against being charmed or frightened and develop Draconic Resilience, granting them resistance to all damage types except psychic, further cementing their connection to the indomitable spirit of dragons.
The Path of the Draconic Rage represents a journey of self-discovery and communion with the ancient forces that shaped the world. These formidable warriors harness the primal energy of dragons, becoming living embodiments of elemental fury. With their melee attacks infused with draconic essence, their ability to withstand elemental damage, and their fearsome presence, they strike terror into the hearts of all who dare to challenge their claim to draconic might.
