Base Class: Fighter
Grim Hunters are warriors who chose to wander the land in their mission of Great Hunt. Their goals are very obscured as every hunter claims the Great Hunt to be something entirely diffrent. One thing is for certain, whatever they call "prey" is dead very shortly after it has been tracked.
Isolated prey
Beginning when you choose this archetype at 3rd level, your melee weapon deals additional damage to your target equal to your Strenght or Dexterity modifier when attacking a creature that has no other creatures friendly towards it within 30 feet.
At fighter level 12 the range changes to 20 feet and further to 10 feet at level 18.
Trophy Hunt
Beginning on level 7 each time you kill a creature (provided it wasn't humanoid) you may collect a trophy from it's corpse. The trophy can't be collected after 1 hour of the creature's death. To collect trophy you have to roll a Survival or Medicine check (whichever is higher) and compare it to the trophies DC.
There are several types of trophies you can collect each having it's own requirements and boons:
• Valuable trophy: you collect the most valuable parts of the creature, they are worth 1d10 x creature AC (lowest value of 5 gp) DC 10
• Battle trophy: if the creature had any natural weapon (claws, horns, spikes etc.) you can collect them and and incorporate them into your melee weapon. The weapon deals additional 1d4 physical damage (type depends on the trophy; maximum of 1 trophy per weapon) DC 15
• Protective trophy: you collect the hide of a creature that has a size of Medium or larger. You may apply it to your armor (maximum of 2) and increase your AC by +1 or your HP by +1 per your fighter level. DC 16
At level 12 the damage increases to 2d6 and HP increases to 2 per fighter level. At level 18 the damage increases to 3d8, HP increases to 3 per fighter level and AC increases to +2.
Lone Wolf
Beginning at level 10 whenever there are any creatures friendly creatures towards you in a 30 foot radius you can reroll a failed charisma or wisdom saving throw but you must use the new roll. Limited to once per short rest
If there are no creatures friendly towards you within 30 feet you gain +5 to attack rolls made with melee weapons.
Call for Great Hunt
Beginning on level 12 you can mark unfriendly creature you can see (provided it's not humanoid) that is within 60 feet with a Mark of the Great Hunt as an action. Only 1 creature can be marked and new creature can't be marked unless the previous one dies.
Marked creature recevies -10 feet of movement when it tries to move away from you, additionaly you receive +10 movement when moving towards the creature.
In addition the creature deals 10 less damage to you if it's isolated.
Retailation
Beginning on level 15 you can now use your reaction to move 10 feet in the direction of a creature that used a ranged attack against you.
Master of the Hunt
At 18th level you become the master of the Great Hunt. Every time you kill a marked creature you heal 2d12 + your proficiency + Constitution modifier and half that amount in temporary hit points.
You are now recognised amongst all other hunters as the greatest and should you need help you can request help from hunters you meet on your way.
