Bards of the college of barter learn how to manipulate their magic to create equal exchanges of their arcane abilities.

Spell Trade

3rd-level College of Barter feature

When you select this bard college at 3rd level, you can use an action to exchange one spell slot of 5th level or lower for an equal number of lower level spell slots, and vice versa. For example, you can spend one 3rd level spell slot to gain three 1st level spell slots, or a 2nd level slot or 1st level slot. Alternatively, you could spend a 2nd level spell slot and a 3rd level spell slot to gain a 5th level spell slot.

 

Inspirational Arcana

6th-level College of Barter feature

Starting at 6th level, you can use a bonus action to exchange spell slots to regain uses of your bardic inspiration. You can expend a spell slot and regain a number of uses of your bardic inspiration equal to half the slots level (rounded up). Alternatively, you can expend uses of your bardic inspiration to regain spell slots. You regain a number of spell levels equal to two times the number of bardic inspiration die spent (to a maximum of 5th level).

Magical Gifts

14th-level College of Barter feature

At 14th level, you exchange your own magic to fuel your allies. As an action, you can touch a creature and spend a spell slot of 5th level or lower. That creature gains a spell slot of a level equal to the level of spell slot spent.
