Monk
Base Class: Monk

Practitioners of the Way of Focused Fury are not your typical serene and enlightened martial artists. Instead, they are individuals with a perpetual chip on their shoulders, harboring deep-rooted anger and frustration within themselves. These monks have chosen to channel their rage into disciplined martial arts training, finding solace and stress relief through physical combat. They embrace their anger as a source of power and use it to overcome any obstacle that stands in their way, be it a malevolent foe or oppressive authority figures.

Furious Technique

Throwing the old ways aside, your intensity and stubbornness has managed to break you away from the conventional "Monk". As such, you are able to wear Light armor and still gain the benefits of the monk's "Martial Arts",  "Unarmored Defense" and "Unarmored Movement" features. You also shun the old ways, granting the ability to use Dexterity instead of Wisdom for your Monk spellcasting ability and Ki save DC.

Fury Focused Fist

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you unleash an ounce of your inner-fury through your strikes. Whenever you hit a creature with one of the attacks granted by your Flurry of Blows, you can impose one of the following effects on that target:

  • It must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or be knocked prone.
  • It must make a Strength saving throw. If it fails, you can push it up to 15 feet away from you.
  • It can’t take reactions until the end of your next turn.

Tempestuous Strikes

At level 6, you are able to infuse controlled fury in your attacks. As a bonus action you can spend 3 Ki points, when you do, for 1 minute, or until you are knocked unconscious, or you dismiss this effect(no action required.) You can add your Martial Arts die to the damage of any attacks you make with monk weapons, improvised weapons or unarmed strikes.

Additionally, if you make a two-handed melee attack with a monk weapon, you add an extra 1 point to the damage to the attack.

Finally, the aforementioned weapon attacks score a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20.

You can do this action a number of times equal to your Constitution modifier plus 1 per Short Rest.

Wrath Charged

Also at level 6, whenever you make two successful attacks against the same target in a turn, you regain 1 of your spent Ki points.

You cannot regain Ki points if this would put you over your maximum limit.

Tumultuous Aura

At level 11, once per Short Rest, as a reaction, you unleash your Tumultuous Aura.

For 10 minutes, until you are knocked unconscious, or end this effect (no action required.) you gain the following effects:

  • Your movement speed is doubled.
  • You do not trigger attacks of opportunity.
  • You are immune to the charmed and frightened condition.
  • You cannot be unwillingly knocked prone and only spend 5ft of movement to get up from prone.
  • You can fly as far as your movement speed allows per turn, if you are still the air when you end your turn, you fall instantly.

If your Tumultuous Aura is ever active for longer than 1 minute, you take 4d10 damage, then a further 4d10 damage for every minute thereafter as your body begins violently tearing apart from the inside. Using this ability more than twice per day grants you one level of exhaustion every time it is used thereafter.

Furious Resolve

At level 17, when you are reduced to 0 hit points, you can immediately expend 5 ki points (no action required) to gain the following effects:

  • You Immediately regain hit-points equal to ten times your Constitution modifier.
  • You gain the effects of your Tempestuous Strikes feature.
  • You gain the effects of your Tumultuous Aura feature.(You do not gain a level of exhaustion when activating in this way)

Using your reaction, you may then expend 1 additional Ki point to move as far as your movement speed directly after the aforementioned effects and make one attack.

You can use this feature a number of times per long rest equal to 1 plus your Constitution modifier.
