Base Class: Blood Hunter (archived)
You can take on the role of the Chosen Undead. A noble fighter in a world that is completely indifferent towards you and your quest. In lands frought with danger, the Chosen Undead fight with untold vigor and bravery, even at the cost of their own life. You are the truest underdog, laying down your life for people who are ungrateful, the unsung hero. You will fight alongside your friends and party members to ensure the quest is complete, your humanity will slip, but you must fight on or go hollow.
Estus Flask
When you join this order at 3rd level, you learn how to create Estus Flasks (detailed below).
Estus Flask. You learn how to manipulate the primordial fires, the spark of life. You may now expend Hit Dice outside of a short rest, up to a maximum of 5 per day. Conversely you can use an action to allow an ally to receive healing by expending your hit dice from your hit dice pool.
Spellcasting
At level 3 you learn 4 cantrips, two of which must be from the Warlock school of magic and two must be from the Sorcerer school of magic. You also learn your level+Con modifier spells that can be from either the Warlock or the Sorcerer spell list of an appropriate level. You gain spell slots equal to that of a true caster, however you do not learn new spells upon leveling up.
In order to obtain new spells, you must spend a 8 hours memorizing scrolls you pick up or find along your travels and cannot be learned by any other means. You may only memorize spells from the Warlock or Sorcerer spell list.
The Unsung Hero
At level 7, you learn how to fight monsters and unholy fiends much larger than you. Whenever you attack a creature that is Large or bigger, you gain an additional +2 to your attacks, this bonus increases by +2 at levels 7, 11, 15, and 18. Additionally, you deal extra damage to creatures that are Large or bigger by an additional 1D8 if their current Hp is below their maximum total. The Damage Die increases by 1D8 at levels 7, 11, 15, and 18.
Darksign
Beginning at 7th level, your blood curses become honed to the fabric of reality. You gain the ability to teleport up to 30 feet away to a target location which you can see. you can use this ability once per long rest, however whenever you use the power of the Darksign you take 1D6+Con mod in damage.
The Supernatural Underdog
Upon reaching 11th level, you’ve learned to weave powerful spells in close ranged combat. You no longer receive disadvantage while casting ranged spells in close proximity to your target. You also learn how to take the Dodge action and Dash action as a Bonus Action as opposed to a Standard Action. Finally, whenever you take the Attack action in combat, you may attack Three times if using a melee weapon.
Undead Fortitude
At 15th level, if an attack would bring you down to 0 hp, you can roll a Death saving throw, no bonuses. If successful, you instead drop to 1 hp. If you fail the Death Saving throw, you instead follow the normal rules of Death and must perform standard Death Saving throws as per usual. You may use this feature once per short rest.
Due to the Chosen Undead becoming more acquainted with their Hollow nature, you gain resistance to Necrotic Damage, and resistance to Psychic damage.
Link the Fire
Upon reaching 18th level, you learn how to teleport vast distances using the magical spark of the primordial flame. You can teleport anywhere you have been to before and have knowledge of. You must however know its location and have visited the location for a minimum of one full day to understand the layout. Upon using this power, you may teleport to a location of your choice alongside any creature you choose who is willing. Upon teleportation you take 8D10 Fire damage which cannot be resisted or ignored by any means. You may use this ability once per Week.
