Monks of the Way of the Typhoon Fist channel the strength and fluidity of water into their martial arts, adapting to the flow of combat with grace and power. They embody the philosophy of balance and adaptability, seeking harmony within themselves and the world around them. Monks who follow the Way of the Typhoon Fist embrace the ever-changing nature of water and the adaptability it represents. They are skilled warriors who flow with the rhythm of combat, striking with precision and harnessing the power of water to control the battlefield.

Waterborne Grace

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, your connection to water enhances your movement. You gain the ability to move across water as if it were solid ground. Additionally, when you fall, you can use your reaction to slow your descent, reducing falling damage by an amount equal to your Monk level.

Fluid Strikes

At 3rd level, your strikes emulate the currents of water. Your unarmed strikes deal an additional 1d4 cold damage this damage increases to 1d6 at 7th level, 2d4 at 11th level and 2d6 at 15th level, and 3d6 at 19th level. When you hit a creature with an unarmed strike, you can spend 1 ki point to push the target 10 feet in a straight line, as if it were caught in a powerful wave. 

Ebb and Flow

Ebb and Flow
Starting at 6th level, you can use your ki to manipulate the ebb and flow of combat. As a bonus action, you can spend 2 ki points to gain advantage on your next attack roll or Dexterity saving throw. Alternatively, you can spend 2 ki points to impose disadvantage on the next attack roll made against you until the start of your next turn.

Whirlpool Defense

Whirlpool Defense
At 11th level, you learn to create a vortex of water around you for defense. As an action, you can spend 3 ki points to create a protective barrier of swirling water. For the next minute, you have resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage. Additionally, ranged weapon attacks made against you have disadvantage if the attacker is more than 10 feet away from you.

Typhoon Mastery

Typhoon Mastery
At 17th level, you attain mastery over the Typhoon Fist techniques. When you use your Flurry of Blows, you can spend 3 ki points to create a powerful shockwave with your strikes. Each creature of your choice within 10 feet of you must make a Strength saving throw (DC 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier) or be knocked prone. Additionally, your unarmed strikes count as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity to magical and nonmagical attacks and damage.
