Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks of the Way of the Frozen Cone have eaten so much ice cream that their ki is fundamentally altered. They can call upon the power of that which they have consumed to aid their allies, control their environments, and manipulate their enemies.

One with the Cone

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you gain the following features:

  • You are resistant to cold damage.
  • Deep snow and slippery ice are not considered difficult terrain for you.
  • Ice cream or other frozen desserts being held or carried on your person will not melt prematurely.

Additionally, when you use Patient Defense, you gain the effects of armor of agathys.

Sundae Bar

At 6th level, you gain the ability to share the power of ice cream with others. Once per long rest, you can take 10 minutes to create a number of scoops of ice cream equal to 2 x your proficiency bonus. The scoops are flavored however you choose. For each scoop you can choose one of the following benefits:

  • Restorative Scoop. Ice cream provides comfort for the soul. Roll your martial arts die. You heal that many hit points.
  • Protective Scoop. The scoop settles within your stomach making you feel at home in the cold. You gain resistance to cold damage for one hour.
  • Hopeful Scoop. Your special treat reminds you that better times are ahead. You are immune to the frightened condition for one hour.
  • Lucky Scoop. You feel completely relaxed, allowing you to prepare for the trials ahead. You can give yourself advantage on one saving throw of your choice that you make within one hour.
  • Joyful Scoop. Free ice cream? What a great day! You gain +1 to every d20 roll for 1 minute.
  • Hard Serve Scoop. This scoop is not edible, though it sure looks delicious. It is a magical weapon with the light, finesse, and thrown properties. Everyone is considered proficient in this weapon. It has a short range of 60 ft and no long range, and on a hit does 1d4 cold + 1d4 bludgeoning damage. The same damage is dealt to anyone who mistakenly tries to eat

It takes an action to eat a sundae scoop, but they do not need to be eaten right away. However, a melted scoop loses its additional magic.

Blizzard

Starting at 11th level, you have learned to extend your ki outside your body, creating a miniature blizzard around you that creates dangerous and difficult terrain. You can spend 6 ki points to cast investiture of ice on yourself. When you cast the spell in this way, you can choose creatures that will not be negatively affected by this aura.

Creatures within your blizzard who open their mouth will notice that the snow tastes like your favorite flavor of ice cream.

Brain Freeze

Beginning at 17th level, you can channel the chilling power of delicious frozen treats to inflict your opponent with a sharp pain in the temple that can slowly overwhelm the entire body.

When you hit with an unarmed strike, you can force the target to make a CON saving throw against your Ki save or become restrained. If you hit with your next unarmed strike, the target must succeed another CON saving throw or become incapacitated. A third successful unarmed strike causes the target to become paralyzed, and a fourth causes the target to be petrified. When a creature is petrified in this way it becomes frozen within an individual sized glacier rather than turned into stone.

In order to inflict subsequent conditions, all attacks must be consecutive. If you miss with an an attack you cannot continue to add conditions unless you start over. If your attack hits but the target succeeds the saving throw, you do not need to start over.

If the target has not been petrified, their condition lasts for a number of rounds equivalent to your Wisdom modifier. The target can also attempt another CON saving throw whenever one of your attacks misses to end the effect early.
