Rogue
Base Class: Rogue

This Sandshifter rogue subclass embodies the mystique of A'Shar and the allure of the desert. It provides rogue characters with unique abilities that draw from the desert environment, illusions, and the power of the shifting sands. The subclass is designed to excel in stealth, misdirection, and battlefield control while immersing the character in the theme and flavor of Athera and Duras.

Sandshifter's Aura

At 3rd level, you gain the ability to harness the desert winds and the shifting sands around you. You can use a bonus action to activate your Sandshifter's Aura. The aura lasts for 1 minute or until you dismiss it as a bonus action.

While the aura is active, you gain the following benefits:

You gain advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks made to hide in sand or create distractions in sandy terrain.

You can use your reaction to deflect projectiles, such as arrows and bullets, targeting you or a creature within 5 feet of you. This provides you with half cover against ranged attacks until the start of your next turn.

Mirage Walker

At 3rd level, your mastery of deception and illusion allows you to create mirages that bewilder and confuse your foes. When you use your Cunning Action to Dash, Disengage, or Hide, you can create an illusory duplicate of yourself as part of the action. The duplicate mirrors your movements but in a different direction and lasts until the start of your next turn. While the duplicate is active, you have advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks.

Desert's Fortune

Starting at 9th level, your connection to A'Shar brings you good fortune amidst the sands. You gain the ability to reroll a failed ability check or saving throw. You can use this feature once, regaining the ability to do so after you finish a long rest.

Ephemeral Step

At 13th level, you learn to meld with the shifting sands, allowing you to move with unparalleled grace. You can use your bonus action to teleport up to 60 feet to an unoccupied space you can see within dim light, darkness in a heavily obscured area. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Dexterity modifier (minimum of once), and you regain expended uses when you finish a short or long rest.

Whispering Mirage

At 17th level, you become a true master of illusion and deception. As an action, you can create a powerful illusory mirage that affects a 30-foot cube within 60 feet of you. The area becomes heavily obscured with swirling sand and illusion, granting you and your allies total cover within it. Additionally, you and your allies can see creatures inside the area and creatures outside the area have disadvantage on attacks and ability checks against those within the area. The mirage lasts for 1 minute or until you dismiss it as a bonus action.

Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
