Base Class: Warlock
The Spectral Pact is a rare and eerie form of Warlock pact that delves into the realms of the supernatural. Those who follow this path are bound not to a traditional otherworldly entity, but to a restless and powerful ghostly presence. The haunting spirit could be that of a long-forgotten ancestor, a vengeful soul seeking redemption, or a guardian from the afterlife. The bond with this spectral entity grants the Warlock unique powers, blending the lines between the living and the dead.
Extended Spell List
Your patron imparts the following spells to you as you advance as a Spectral Pact Warlock:
1st Level: False Life, Mage Armor
2nd Level: See Invisibility, Detect Thoughts
3rd Level: Spirit Guardians, Speak with Dead
4th Level: Phantasmal Killer, Dimension Door
5th Level: Legend Lore, Scrying
Ethereal Manipulation
Ethereal Manipulation
Starting at 1st level, you can attempt to manipulate objects or creatures on the ethereal plane. Make a Charisma check with your spellcasting modifier. On a successful check, you can move or affect ethereal objects or creatures as if they were in the material plane for 1 minute. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
Ectoplasmic Strike
At 6th level, your connection with the haunting ghost allows you to imbue your attacks with ectoplasmic energy. When you hit a creature with a melee spell attack, you can use your bonus action to infuse it with ectoplasm. The target must make a Constitution saving throw against your warlock spell save DC. On a failed save, the target takes an additional 2d6 necrotic damage and is restrained by the ectoplasm until the start of your next turn.
While restrained by the ectoplasm, the creature's speed becomes 0, and it cannot benefit from any bonuses to its speed. Additionally, the creature has a disadvantage on Strength and Dexterity saving throws and attack rolls. At the end of its turn, the restrained creature can repeat the Constitution saving throw, ending the restraint on a success.
Haunting Presence
Starting at the 10th level, you can call upon the haunting presence of your patron to strike fear into the hearts of your enemies. As an action, you can force a creature within 30 feet of you to make a Wisdom saving throw against your warlock spell save DC. On a failed save, the creature becomes frightened for 1 minute. The creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on a success.
Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
Eternal Bond
At the 14th level, your bond with the ghostly patron becomes even stronger. You gain resistance to necrotic damage, and you can no longer be charmed or frightened by any creature.
Additionally, you can use your action to temporarily become fully corporeal and manifest the ghostly form of your patron. For 1 minute, you gain the following benefits:
- Your attacks deal an additional 4d6 necrotic damage.
- You have an advantage on saving throws against spells and magical effects.
Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
