Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

Among the many warriors and wanderers of the world, there exist a grim few - some trophy hunters, some death worshippers, all fearsome foes - who adorn themselves with the bones of their slain opponents. These bone-laden fighters strike a disturbing image, the frightful visage of those bleached-white bones and their clamorous clattering serving as hard-to-ignore reminders of mortality and of their own efficiency at killing and surviving. Some travel to far-flung wasteland graveyards, seeking the skeletal remains of rare and powerful beasts and monsters to craft weapons and armor, while others become local warlords or chieftains, intimidating lesser folk into submission. All fight with a grim ferocity and use their collected bones as both weapons and defense. Should you cross the path of one, take care that your bones aren't the next to join their collection.

Grim Harvest

Bone Collectors have an uncanny ability to harvest skeletal material from the slain, and then use the harvested bones to their benefit. As part of a short rest, you can harvest bone from a slain beast, construct, dragon, humanoid, or monstrosity of size Small or larger to create one of the following items: a shield, a club, a javelin, a shortsword, a handaxe, a battleaxe, or 1d4 darts or blowgun needles.

If the slain target is of size Large or larger, you can create one of the following items: a longsword, a greatsword, a maul, or a greataxe.

Any weapons made using this skill have a particularly keen nature, doing 1d4 bonus damage of the weapon's type. This amount increases to 1d6 at Level 6, 1d8 at Level 9, 1d10 at Level 12, and 1d12 at Level 15.

This bonus damage only applies to bone weapons crafted by and used by the Bone Collector.

Walking Arsenal

The many bones worn by a Bone Collector, or those found in a place of death or on a freshly slain foe, can often be dangerous tools in their own right. Starting at level 7, a fighter of this sort can handily use such grim remains as weapons, whether thrown or swung. They count as Improvised Weapons.

Often, an improvised weapon is similar to an actual weapon and can be treated as such. At the GM’s option, a character proficient with a weapon can use a similar object as if it were that weapon and use his or her proficiency bonus. Bone-based improvised weapons used in this fashion deal the Bone Collector's damage bonus from Grim Harvest (the GM assigns a damage type appropriate to the object) instead of their primary damage dice.

An improvised thrown weapon has a normal range of 20 feet and a long range of 60 feet.

Clattering Armor

The clacking, clattering sound of an approaching Bone Collector is indeed a dreadful sound to hear. It makes them poor sneakers and hiders, but they wouldn't engage in such cowardly practices often if a direct assault is possible. Starting at level 10, the Bone Collector gains +2 AC due to the increased amount of bones in their collection. Additionally, the rattling sound of all those bones causes the Bone Collector to roll any Stealth checks at disadvantage, but when a Bone Collector fails a Stealth check any target that detects them must make a WIS saving throw against Intimidation or become Frightened of the Bone Collector for a number of rounds equal to the Bone Collector's proficiency.

This WIS saving throw may be repeated at the end of each of the affected target's turns until the effect ends.

Grave Resilience

At a certain point, the bones of a Bone Collector's armor become more like a carapace than decoration. They form a grim, clattering sort of armor which protects the Bone Collector in addition to their usual defenses.

Starting at Level 15, the Bone Collector gains Resistance to Slashing, Piercing, and Bludgeoning attacks from Non-Magical sources.

Mortal Coil

Bone Collectors that progress far enough down their dark path become juggernauts of death, so thickly cased in bone material that it becomes even harder for attacks to find purchase against them., providing them protection against a variety of magical sources of damage.

Starting at level 18, the Bone Collector gains Resistance to several types of magic damage, including Radiant, Necrotic, Fire, Cold, and Lightning.
