Base Class: Paladin
"Pride, then, seems to be a sort of crown of the virtues; for it makes them more powerful, and it is not found without them. Therefore it is hard to be truly proud; for it is impossible without nobility and goodness of character."
Pride -- The virtue of accurate self-estimation, the triumphant feeling of success over adversity, a greatness of soul and magnanimity, and the immortal kinship of the lion god.
Misplaced pride is hubris, missing pride is doubt, but the Pride of Nobanion is the boldness of spirit to recognize and leverage one's own virtues into greatness.
The Tenets of Nobanion's Pride are issued as follows:
I - Embrace the wildness within.
Live by your nature, be true to your instincts and be clear in your intent and you will find harmony.
II - Reject and refute the pursuit of power for power’s sake.
Those who would exert their power to dominate others shall be smote. Serve no master but the good of the community. Make your only covenant with righteous companions in equal partnership.
III - Promote peace, but suffer no oppression.
Speak softly when you show your claws. Strike savagely if peace is refused. Show no mercy to the wicked.
IV - Hunt only when hungry.
Not for glory but for good – may you hunger for justice, always.
V - The strong survive, but through compassion, not tyranny, are we made strong.
Protect the weak and your strength will grow together.
VI - Command none to a course that you would not undertake yourself.
Authority is forged through service and shared abundance.
VII - Explore the uncharted within and without.
Learn to adapt like water, scent change on the wind, stand firm as stone and coarse true like flame. See yourself reflected in the wide world you wander.
VIII - A noble spirit embiggens the smallest beast.
All may find strength through courage. In nature we all have a part to play.
Swear then, as a champion of the Pride of Nobanion, to always:
Act with conviction and belief in one's course.
Protect, and where possible, empower the weak and forlorn.
Oppose those who seek power for power's sake.
Choose peace as the first course of action.
Channel Divinity
When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options.
Inspiring Smite. Immediately after you deal damage to a creature with your Divine Smite feature, you can use your Channel Divinity as a bonus action and distribute temporary hit points to creatures of your choice within 30 feet of you, which can include you. The total number of temporary hit points equals 2d8 + your level in this class, divided among the chosen creatures however you like.
Vow of Enmity. As a bonus action, you can utter a vow of enmity against a creature you can see within 10 feet of you, using your Channel Divinity. You gain advantage on attack rolls against the creature for 1 minute or until it drops to 0 hit points or falls unconscious.

Relentless Avenger
By 7th level, your supernatural focus helps you close off a foe’s retreat. When you hit a creature with an opportunity attack, you can move up to half your speed immediately after the attack and as part of the same reaction. This movement doesn’t provoke opportunity attacks.
Soul of Vengeance
Starting at 15th level, the authority with which you speak your Vow of Enmity gives you greater power over your foe. When a creature under the effect of your Vow of Enmity makes an attack, you can use your reaction to make a melee weapon attack against that creature if it is within range.
Mythic Swashbuckler
At 20th level, you learn to channel the spirits of historic sea captains to briefly become a paragon of heroic adventure. As an action, you embrace these spirits of the sea to gain the following benefits for 1 minute:
- You have advantage on Strength (Athletics) checks and you gain a climbing speed equal to your walking speed. If you already have a climbing speed, it is doubled.
- If you are within 5 feet of a creature and no other creatures are within 5 feet of you, you have advantage on attack rolls against that creature.
- You can take the Dash or Disengage action as a bonus action.
- You have advantage on Dexterity checks and Dexterity saving throws against effects you can see.
Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.
