Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

While dragons are solitary creatures, they often take on followers to help them acquire treasure and protect their hoards and lairs. As their lairs are typically found in remote locations, it is common for the local tribes to fall under their sway – either as willing helpers or subservient thralls. Certain such individuals absorb some of the ambient magic of the dragon with which they are associated. This grants them a sliver of the dragon’s might, which propels their fury in battle.

Dragon’s Might

3rd-Level Path of Draconic Wrath Feature

When you choose this path, you learn to speak, read, and write Draconic or one other language of your choice if you already know Draconic. You have chosen an amethyst dragon as your association. The damage type associated with your dragon is force.

Draconic Fury

3rd-level Path of Draconic Wrath feature

You can channel draconic fury into your weapon strikes. While you’re raging, the first creature you hit on each of your turns with a weapon attack takes extra damage equal to 1d6 + half your barbarian level, rounded down. The type of damage is force.

Draconic Scales

6th-level Path of Draconic Wrath feature

Your skin and mind harden. You gain a +1 bonus to AC. Furthermore, you can’t be charmed or frightened while raging. If you are charmed or frightened when you enter your rage, the effect is suspended for the duration of the rage.

Draconic Blast

10th-level Path of Draconic Wrath feature

As an action, you can unleash a 30-foot cone of destructive energy from your weapon or fist. Each creature must make a Dexterity saving throw (DC equals 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Constitution modifier), taking 6d6 damage on a failed save or half as much damage on a successful one. The type of damage is determined by your draconic association.

You can take this action a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

At 14th level, the blast increases to a 60-foot cone, the damage increases to 12d6.

Draconic Shield

14th-level Path of Draconic Wrath feature

While raging, a field of silvery light surrounds you. The field sheds dim light out to 5 feet. While surrounded by the field, you gain the following benefits:

  • You have half cover.
  • Damage Resistance. You have resistance to acid, cold, fire, lightning, and poison damage.
  • If you are subjected to an effect that allows you to make a Dexterity saving throw to take only half damage, you instead take no damage if you succeed on the saving throw, and only half damage if you fail.
