Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

There are many warriors that protect the land. The earth is a stalwart, strong foundation, and its fighters walk with equal fortitude. But beneath the waves, the currents rage, the seas churn, the many creatures within following the whims of change and momentum. This is the style of a warrior of the waves. Boasting elemental power to aid them in combat, barbarians of the roiling seas utilize the force of their will to create external forces as well, crashing into the enemy like a tsunami to the shore.

Aspect of the Sea

The sea has called to you and blessed you with the ability to traverse it with ease. You have a swimming speed equal to your walking speed, and you can breathe underwater. While speaking underwater, other creatures can hear you as though you were speaking normally.

Torrential Force

There is a churning sea of energy within you that you can use to produce certain effects. You have a pool of dice called Torrent Dice that you can use to activate certain effects from your primal path. This pool is represented by a number of d8s equal to your level. You regain all expended dice after you finish a long rest. If an effect from your Torrent abilities forces a creature to make a saving throw, the DC is equivalent to 8 + your Constitution modifier + your proficiency bonus.

When you hit with a melee attack while you are raging, you can expend a number of Torrent dice, up to a maximum of your proficiency bonus. If you do, the attack deals additional damage equal to the roll of those dice, and if the creature is no more than one size larger than you, it must make a Strength saving throw. On a failed save, you may knock it prone or push it a number of feet away from you equal to 5 times the amount of dice you rolled.

In addition, you can spend any number of Torrent dice to cast create or destroy water, without components. When you cast it this way, you may only choose to create water, not destroy it. The level of the spell is equal to the number of Torrent dice spent.

At 20th level, whenever you roll initiative and you have no Torrent dice, you regain 4 Torrent dice.

Tidal Rush

Starting at 6th level, you can expend 1 Torrent die to take the Dash action as a bonus action. If you do, you may roll the die and add the result to the damage of the next melee attack you hit this turn.

Alternatively, you can surge forward atop a conjured wave of water. As an action on your turn, you may spend 3 Torrent Dice to move up to your speed in a straight line, while a wall of water trails behind you. Each creature within 10 feet of you as you move forward must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, it takes 4d8 bludgeoning damage and is knocked prone. On a successful save, it takes half as much and is not knocked prone.

You can spend additional Torrent dice up to a maximum of your proficiency bonus to increase the damage of this ability by the amount rolled.

Soul of the Current

At 10th level, the ever-shifting currents keep you stable even in the most dangerous waves. If you are knocked prone, you can spend a Torrent die to immediately return to your feet. Additionally, if you succumb to an effect that would forcefully move you, you can spend a Torrent die to remain in place instead.

In addition, whenever you roll a 20 on an attack roll, you can regain 1 Torrent die. You can do so only once per turn.

Maelstrom Incarnate

At 14th level, you embody the pure destructive force of an ocean whirlpool. While you are raging, you can use a bonus action to disappear in a splash of sea water, then reappear at a point you can see within 60 feet of you. Each creature within 20 feet of the point you arrived in must make a Strength saving throw. On a failed save, the creature is pulled until they are within 5 feet of you, and you regain 1 Torrent die for each creature you pull in. You can use this bonus action a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses after you finish a long rest.

While you are completely submerged when you use this ability, you may teleport to a space within 120 feet of you, and you instead pull each submerged creature within 40 feet of you.
