Base Class: Artificer
The Cartographer artificer is a master of arcane cartography, seamlessly blending the science of mapmaking with the mystique of magical prowess. These adept artisans craft maps that extend beyond mere geography, revealing hidden truths of the world. As a Cartographer, you may find yourself driven by a relentless thirst for knowledge, a profound love of exploration, or an insatiable desire to unravel the world's hidden secrets. Some among your ranks aspire to map uncharted territories, while others delve deep into the arcane, seeking to uncover lost realms that elude common understanding.
Cartographers are often characterized by their meticulous nature, coupled with a passionate spirit of exploration and an unquenchable curiosity that drives them to the furthest corners of the world. It's not uncommon to find Cartographers with a penchant for collecting rare maps and scrolls, delving into forgotten libraries, and honing ancient cartographic techniques to perfection.
In many societies, Cartographers are held in high regard, regarded as both explorers and scholars. They serve as essential navigators, responsible for mapping trade routes, charting treacherous territories, and unveiling long-forgotten civilizations. Some view them as arcane architects, capable of skillfully manipulating the battlefield to their advantage or crafting shortcuts during moments of dire need. Your role as a Cartographer is as multifaceted as the maps you create, and the world eagerly awaits the next chapter in your quest for knowledge and discovery.

Spatial Mastery
3rd-level Cartographer feature
Starting at 3rd level, you can use your action to create an intricately detailed map of an area within 60 feet of you. This map covers a square area no larger than 10 x your Intelligence modifier feet in any dimension. The map provides you with precise spatial awareness of the area it covers, even if it's beyond your line of sight. You can concentrate on the map's details as if you were physically present, allowing you to perceive creatures and objects within the mapped area.
Maintaining this map requires your concentration. If your concentration is broken, the map goes blank, and any effects on the area you have created using the map immediately end. Your concentration on the map lasts for a number of minutes equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum of 1 minute). If you use this feature again, the previously created map disappears. You can create a number of maps equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.
Additionally, you gain proficiency in [tool]Cartographer's tools[/tool] and [tool]Navigator's Tools[/tool]
Terrain Shaping
3rd-level Cartographer feature
At 3rd level, when you create a map using your Spatial Mastery feature, you can use a bonus action to manipulate the terrain within the mapped area. You can transform up to half of the area into difficult terrain, hampering movement for creatures within the affected squares. This manipulation lasts until your concentration on the map ends or you choose to end this effect as a bonus action.
Folded Pathways
5th-level Cartographer feature
Upon reaching 5th level, your mastery of cartography allows you to manipulate space itself. As an action, you can create a folded pathway between two points within the area covered by one of the maps you create in your Spatial Mastery feature. This pathway lasts for 1 minute or until you dismiss it (no action required). A creature occupying the same space as one end of the folded pathway can use 5 feet of movement to instantly emerge from the other end, as if the two points were adjacent to each other.
Antimagic Zone
9th-level Cartographer feature
Starting at 9th level, your control over the areas you map extends to the magic that exists within it. Once per use of your Spatial Mastery feature, as an action, you can designate a 5-foot by 5-foot square area within the coverage of one of your maps as an Antimagic Zone. Any spells or magical effects that enter this zone are suppressed while they are within it. The zone has the same effects as the antimagic field spell. The zone lasts for 1 minute or until you dismiss it (no action required).
Banishment of the Bound
15th-level Cartographer feature
At 15th level, your mastery over spatial manipulation reaches its apex as you begin to reach into other planes of existence. Once per use of your Spatial Mastery feature, you can use your action to banish a creature from the mapped area. The creature must make a Charisma saving throw against your artificer spell save DC. On a failed save, the creature is banished to a harmless demiplane for 1 minute, after which it returns to the same space it occupied when banished. While banished, the creature is incapacitated and unaware of its surroundings. Additionally, you gain access to the plane shift spell, which you can cast once per long rest without expending a spell slot.
