Witch Doctors are almost universally feared. Setting aside their potential for extreme power and their penchant for hurling inane quantities of spells, followers of this pact are known to be highly unstable. Although typically frail and easily killed with a strong sword stroke, getting close enough to a witch doctor to deal such a blow often proves a fatal task. Witch doctors are priority targets for any who know of their ways, although even they struggle to put down these terrifying warlocks.

Expanded Spell List

The bond with eccentric magics lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you.

Spell Totem

At 1st level when you choose this pact, you gain the ability to create a totem. As part of the action you use to cast a spell that targets only one creature, you may form a totem within 5 feet of yourself and begin concentrating on that spell.

The totem is a small object that has hit points equal to 5 times your proficiency bonus and an appearance of your choosing.

While the totem lasts, you may use your action on subsequent turns to recast the spell without expending a spell slot or material components.

If you use your action to do anything other than recast the spell, the totem fails, after one minute, the totem fails.

If your concentration is broken or your totem is destroyed, you take damage equal to one casting of the spell. You may create a number of totems equal to your proficiency bonus each long rest.

Blood Pact

At 6th level, when you or your totem takes damage, you may choose to instead split that damage between you and your totem.

Totemic Deception

At 10th level, as a bonus action you can swap places with your totem.

Empowered Totems

Starting at 14th level, your totems become more resilient and versatile, gaining resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage from nonmagical sources, and can be placed up to 30 feet away from your location.
