Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

The Corsair Fighter is a master of naval warfare, skilled in both shipboard combat and open-water warfare. Whether serving as a pirate, a privateer, or a naval officer, Corsairs are unmatched in their ability to control the flow of battle on the high seas.

Seafarer's Proficiency

At 3rd level, you gain proficiency with water vehicles and navigator's tools. You also gain proficiency with one type of artisan's tools related to ship maintenance, such as carpenter's tools, tinkerer's tools, or woodcarver's tools.

Carpenter

Due to your skilled life on the high seas, you gain proficiency in carpenter's tools.

Tinkerer

Due to your skilled life on the high seas, you gain proficiency in tinkerer's tools.

Woodcarver

Due to your skilled life on the high seas, you gain proficiency in woodcarver's tools.

Seafarer's Grit

Starting at 3rd level, you can call upon your seafaring experience to shrug off adversity. When you are subjected to an effect that allows you to make a Wisdom saving throw to take only half damage, you can use your reaction to instead take no damage on a successful save.

At 7th level, your knowledge of naval combat tactics makes you an effective leader on the high seas. As a bonus action on your turn, you can grant one friendly creature within 30 feet of you advantage on their next attack roll or ability check. Once you use this feature, you must finish a short or long rest before you can use it again. The number of times this can be used per short rest increases to 2 at 14th level.

Special Strike

When you reach 10th level, choose from one of the following to gain a specialized attack that best suits your character.

Deadly Volley

Whenever you take the Attack action with a ranged weapon, you can make one additional ranged weapon attack as part of that action. This additional attack doesn't require a separate action and doesn't add your ability modifier to the damage roll.

Vigorous Strike

When you score a critical hit with a ranged weapon attack, you can choose to knock the target prone instead of dealing extra damage. The target must make a Strength saving throw (DC 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength or Dexterity modifier, your choice) or be knocked prone.

Ruthless Raider

At 15th level, your reputation as a formidable raider on the high seas precedes you. When you score a critical hit against a creature, you can immediately make an additional weapon attack against a different creature within 5 feet of the original target.

You also gain advantage on Strength saving throws against being knocked prone.

Corsair Captain

At 18th level, you have become the ultimate Corsair, a master of combat. When you roll initiative, you can choose to gain advantage on all attack rolls made during your turn for the first minute (10 Rounds) of the combat encounter. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
