Base Class: Blood Hunter
Long ago, before the age of Voden. There were several green orc individuals that'd utilize underhanded tactics to win all battles by any means necessary. This would include assassination, tool utilization, deceptive arcane magic, and even hemocraft. Earning the wrath of the god of law, contracts, and the sun in Heliod, these orcs were smote down and turned into red orcs with protruding horns.
They'd be exiled from their green orc tribe and become the first yokai spirits to ever roam Aurora. However some of those first Yokai in the Oni would refuse to let their practices die out after exile, they'd seek to enhance themselves with these certain blood rites will a trial known as the hunter's bane. Upon doing so, they'd make their own order of Yokai Bloodhunters able to unleash their true potential of blood magic with little to no physical restraints.
Though this order, may be long forgotten to time, something has caused it to reemerge recently, and with the Yokai spirits returning back to Aurora, this does not bode well for anyone caught on the other side of their blades...
Rite of Ōtakemaru
When you join this order at 3rd level, you learn the Rite of the Oni esoteric rite (detailed below).
Rite of Ōtakemaru. Your rite damage is necrotic damage. While the rite is active, you gain the following benefits:
- When activating this rite. On your next attack, you deal two rolls of your crimson rite dice + your Bloodhunter level in damage. After you hit the creature, the rite dispels itself requiring a bonus action to reactivate.
- Whenever you activate this rite, you suffer damage equal to two rolls of the crimson rite die.
The Haunting
You gain the ability to cast Silence a number of times equal to your intelligence modifier
Shadow Stalker
At 7th level, you gain darkvision out to a range of 60 feet. If you already have darkvision from your race, its range increases by 30 feet.
You are also adept at evading creatures that rely on darkvision. While in darkness or dim light, you may use a bonus action to go invisible to any creature that relies on darkvision to see you in that darkness.
Brand of the Demon
Beginning at 11th level, your Brand of Castigation now exposes a fragment of your foe’s essence, leaving them vulnerable to your Crimson Rite. Whenever you damage a branded creature with your Crimson Rite, the target must make a wisdom saving throw or become frightened of you.
If a frightened enemy you’ve marked dies within one round, then you may use a reaction to force a creature within 30 feet to make a wisdom saving throw or also be feared.
Hidden Predator
When shrouded in the veil of invisibility, hidden from sight, or otherwise unseen by your target, your blood curses seep with a more potent dread. Individuals affected by your blood curse under such circumstances suffer disadvantage on their saving throws against the curse. Upon their failure to resist your blood curse, the dread deepens, granting you advantage on your next attack against them.
Blood Curse of Embraced Punishment
Upon hitting a target, you may use a reaction to force a Constitution saving throw upon him. Upon fail until the end of your next turn, they suffer damage equal to half the damage you take.
Amplify – This lasts for 1 minute, and the creature makes a constitution saving throw at the end of their turn to break the curse. Also, you must use your reaction to maintain concentration on this curse.
Crush!!!!!
Upon using your Crimson rite of Otakemaru, you may now activate using either a bonus action or one of your attack actions.
