Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

"Hello there! I'm your guide and explain everything step by step for you! I can assure you we created the perfect thing for your just as perfect game! ;)

So then, DND. One of the most popular fantasy tabletop role-playing games. I hope you're prepared for a wonderful journey of magical adventures full with mystical creature like fairies and unicorns! ... huh ... wait, don't tell me that you haven't even picked a subclass yet?! Unbelievable! Don't you know that a subclass really makes your character unique! Well, no worries. It's still not to late to take one!

Our subclass here focuses on ranged combat and stopping your enemies in their tracks! This will assure you and your party will stay as safe as possible!"

(This is a parody, I'm not actually affiliated nor hired by IGN to make this. I just thought it would be funny to make a subclass inspired by old gaming guides with their cheesy dialog, that's all! Have fun reading this, or not!)

Keep Distance

Beginning when you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you can use your reaction to make an opportunity attack with a ranged weapon against a creature who either moves in or into your attack range. Additionally, should you hit any creature with a ranged weapon attack, the creatures walking speed becomes 0 until they remove the projectile by using a bonus-action.

"Hello! It's me again! As you see our build offers a good way to keep enemies at a distance, making it easier for you and other ranged allies to keep them at bay! But what would be if an enemy actually engaged you in melee combat?! Well, just take a sword with you as well, dummy! Or take the crossbow expert feat!"

Curse

Starting at 7th level, you can use a bonus-action to curse yourself until you finish a long-rest. This curse will reduce your maximum hit points by 25%, but makes your weapons more dangerous. While cursed your weapon attacks will deal an amount of d4 force damage, equal to your proficiency bonus, additional to it's normal damage on a hit. This ability can be used once a long-rest

"Enough of pesky werewolves ruining your day because you didn't wanna spend all your gold on silvered items?! Well screw you DM! We can just curse ourselves and actually do damage to those kind of enemies! ... I know sacrificing 1/4 of your hit points may not seem worth it, but you gotta see the full picture. You won't take damage if the enemy doesn't reach you in the first place! ;)"

Resistance

At 10th level, you gain resistance against poison and acid damage. Additionally any poisonous effect that you gain will vanish after (6 - proficiency bonus) minutes, unless it's duration was already shorter than this.

"Nobody likes to be on the receiving end of poison! Not you tho, so let's grab them poison knives out of the evil rogues hands and stab yourself with it! ... WHY?! ... Cause you got resistance to it now! It's okay to show off from time to time!"

Tracking Arrow

Starting at 15th level, you can choose to mark creature, which you can see, as a bonus-action. As long as the marked creature stays in your range of attack, any ranged attack you take will reach the creature, as long as the creature is not completely enclosed by something your projectile cannot go through. The mark on the creatures vanishes if it dies or you mark another creature. Additionally, you always feel the presence of any ammunition you shot, allowing you to find it or a creature who took it by following it's presence.

"HA! How will those fools hide now! Now you can hit them even if their hiding behind a wall, those cowards. Magic is really wonderful, no wonder everyone loves mages. How does it feel to taste how a really viable class feels like? ... OH ... sorry. I didn't mean to hurt your feeling, let's just move on!"

Reactionary

At 18th level, you gain the agility to use multiple opportunity attack against a creature should it trigger the conditions for it, either normally or through"Keep Distance". From now on you can take multiple opportunity attacks with one reaction, the amount of attacks you can make is equal to the amount of attacks you can take throughan action. If you don't take your action or bonus-action in your turn, you can instead use them as additional reactions until start of your next turn.

"The more the better! This ability gives you a lot. Up to 9 attacks as reactions and 12 in total if you reach 20th level! Who could say no to that? Couldn't be me! Better even, you can't waste your action and reactions anymore! If you have no use for them, just don't use em... and boom! They're now reactions instead! Now you just got to use them up before your next turn, but that shouldn't be a problem if you account "Keep Distance" in the equation. We in the office call this build, the turret! ... You know why? ... Cause you're standing still in most cases and shoot them like a turret? ... Like those monkeys in that balloon game? ... Good! Have fun with it and thanks for reading!"
