Spectral Insight
Starting at 1st level, your patron is constantly within you, giving you the collective knowledge and experiences of their spirit companion. You gain proficiency in two different skills, and a language of choice, based on the knowledge of the spirit following you. Additionally, your patron is always looking your surroundings, you can add you charisma modifier to your passive perception.
Spiritual Phylactery
At 6th level, the Warlock's connection to their spectral entity deepens to the point where they can create a Spiritual Phylactery, a unique artifact. The Spiritual Phylactery can take the form of a piece of jewelry, a trinket, or a small container. Usually related to your spirit's previous life.
Upon creating the phylactery, the warlock can choose one of the following effects. The effects last as long as the Warlock is carrying the phylactery.
Resilient Bond: The Warlock's connection to the spirit strengthens their resolve. They have advantage on saving throws against being charmed, frightened, possessed, blinded and deafened.
Ethereal Concealment: While carrying the Spiritual Phylactery, the Warlock gains proficiency in Stealth checks and can cast Invisibility once per short rest without expending a spell slot. This effect lasts for 1 minute.
Spectral Ward: The Warlock can call upon the protective power of their Spiritual Phylactery as a reaction to taking damage. They gain resistance to all damage from the triggering attack and restore 1d4 points of health. In case of multiple attacks, the Warlock can choose which attack to resist. This feature can be used a number of times equal to the Warlock's proficiency bonus per long rest.
Spectral Casting: You can use the help of your spirit to cast spells, allowing you to cast a Cantrip as a bonus action. This feature can be used a number of times equal to the Warlock's charisma modifier per long rest.
Phantom Infusion: Once per long rest, the Warlock can store a spell within the phylactery, allowing for it to be cast without spending a spell slot as a bonus action. The maximum level of the spell that can be stored is half of your current warlock level (rounded up). You cannot store any spells that require concentration.
Optionally, the Warlock can change the effects of the Phylactery after gaining a Warlock leve.
Soulbind Manifestation
At 10th level, the Spirit Warlock's bond with their spectral companion reaches its zenith. You can summon the spirit from your Spiritual Phylactery as an action, temporarily allowing it to manifest as a spectral being to aid you in times of need. This spectral companion has the following characteristics:
- It shares your initiative and takes its turn immediately after yours in combat.
- It has an ethereal form, granting it resistance to non-magical damage and the ability to move through solid objects.
- It can take actions on its turn, attacking or casting a spell
- Melee attacks are considered unarmed attacks, and deals 1d4 psychic damage
- Casting a spell spends a spell slot as normal.
- It has the same stats as you, but it cannot be reduced to 0 hit points. Instead, if it takes enough damage to be destroyed, it dissipates into the ethereal plane and cannot manifest again until you complete a long rest. If you die while the spirit is manifested, it will also dissipate.
Ethereal Reckoning
At 14th level, the Spirit Warlock can momentarily bridge the gap between the material and ethereal planes, allowing them to bring forth the full power of their spectral companion. Once per long rest, you can enter a state of Ethereal Reckoning as a bonus action, which lasts for 1 minute.
While in this state, you gain the following benefits:
-
You become ethereal and can move through solid objects, gaining immunity to non-magical damage.
-
Your spells and attacks deal additional force damage equal to your Charisma modifier.
-
You and your spirit resist psychic and necrotic damage.
-
You can see ethereal spirits and entities that are usually invisible to the naked eye. You can also see clearly, even in complete darkness.
