Base Class: Monk
A monk who follows the Way of the Mage's Hand combines the use of their martial arts with their signature spell, Mage Hand. They imbue their magic into their fists as well as their Mage Hand to accentuate their techniques, with their Mage Hand spells in particular extending the range of their attacks. They don't abandon their ki, however, using it to enhance and customize their Mage Hand to suit their needs.
Mage Hand Enhancement
Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you gain the ability to cast mage hand at will as a bonus action, and when cast by you the spell gains the following properties:
- Mage hand now summons two hands instead of one.
- You can make unarmed strikes, equip weapons to the hands for weapon attacks, and use your monk features using mage hand from a distance so long as you see the target.
- If you choose to center the spell on your hands they will be worn like gloves, and your unarmed strike can be rolled with an extra damage die while worn by you.
- You gain advantage on concentration checks for the purpose of maintaining a mage hand spell.
Spellcasting
When you reach 3rd level, you augment your martial arts prowess with the ability to cast Wizard spells at the rate of a ⅓ caster using Strength as your spellcasting modifier.
Imbued Mage Hand
At 6th level, you gain the ability to use a ki point to change the damage type of your unarmed strikes or other monk features using your mage hand. As an attack action, you can change the damage type of your unarmed strikes from bludgeoning to either fire, cold, lightning, radiant, necrotic, force, or psychic damage for the purpose of overcoming resistance using your mage hand as long as your mage hand is active.
Ki Mage
Beginning at 11th level, you gain the ability to use a bonus action to expend one or more ki points to regain a spell slot of a level equal to the number of ki points expended or expend one spell slot to gain ki points equal to the level of the spell slot.
Monk's Hand
At 17th level, you can spend a ki point to extend the range of your mage hand to a radius of 60 feet at will. Concentration for mage hand does not count towards your limit on the number of concentration-based spells and features you can use and must be rolled separately.
