Lightning Arts

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can overcharge your Ki when harnessing it for an attack.

Whenever you hit a creature with an unarmed strike, you can spend 1 Ki point to add 1d8 lighting or thunder (player choice) damage dealt by this and all other unarmed strikes until the beginning of your next turn.

When you spend this Ki point, you will also gain the following until the beginning of your next turn

  • gain 10 feet of movement speed
  • your movement will not create attacks of opportunity

Striking Coil

At 6th level, when you spend 3 Ki points as a bonus action on this ability you gain the following for 1 minute:

  • whenever you take the Attack action on your turn, the number of attacks increases to three (maximum)
  • movement speed increases by 10 feet

Riding the Current

Beginning at 11th level, you can spend Ki to do the following as a bonus action:

  • spend 2 Ki points to cast Misty Step as a 2nd level spell
  • spend 4 Ki points to cast Thunder Step as a 3rd level spell

The saving throw DC for the spell equals 8 + your Wisdom modifier + your proficiency bonus.

Chained Strike

At 17th level, as an action, you can spend 4 ki points to choose 7 targets you can see within 30 feet of yourself. This can be the same target or different ones. You vanish and bolts of lightning strike from all angles. Make a separate melee attack for each strike. On a hit, the target takes 3d10 lightning damage.

You then teleport to an unoccupied space you can see within 5 feet of one of the targets you hit or missed.
