Ranger
Base Class: Ranger

as

Dino Fear

3rd-Level Dino Guardian Feature

The bond you share with your dino allows you to strike fear into your enemys.

Thaumaturgy. You learn the thaumaturgy cantrip, which is a ranger spell for you.

When you take this action, each creature within 30 feet of you that can see you must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or be frightened of you until the end of your next turn.

Dino Friend

3rd-Level Feature

As an action, you can magically summon the dino that is bound to you. It appears in an unoccupied space of your choice within 30 feet of you.

The dino is friendly to you and your companions, and it obeys your commands. See its game statistics in the accompanying Dino Companion stat block, which uses your proficiency bonus (PB) in several places.

In combat, the ddino shares your initiative count, but it takes its turn immediately after yours. It can move and use its reaction on its own, but the only action it takes on its turn is the Dodge action, unless you take a bonus action on your turn to command it to take another action. That action can be one in its stat block or some other action. If you are incapacitated, the drake can take any action of its choice, not just Dodge.

The dino remains until it is reduced to 0 hit points, until you use this feature to summon the dino again, or until you die. Anything the dino was wearing or carrying is left behind when the dino vanishes.

Once you summon the dino, you can’t do so again until you finish a long rest, unless you expend a spell slot of 1st level or higher to summon it.

Bond of Fear and Friend

7th-Level Feature

The bond you share with your dino intensifies, protecting you and stoking the dino’s fury.

In addition, while your drake is summoned, you and the dino gain the following benefits:

Dino Mount. The dino grows to Medium size. Reflecting your special bond, you can use the dino as a mount if your size is Medium or smaller.

Magic Fang. The dino’s Bite attack deals an extra 1d8 damage.

Resistance. You gain advantage against being frightened.

Dino bite

11th-Level Feature

The dino grows to Large size.
When your dino uses the bite attack if the target is a Medium or smaller creature, it is grappled (escape DC 17). Until this grapple ends, the target is restrained, and the Dino can't bite another target.

Perfected Bond

15th-Level Feature

Your bond to your dino reaches the pinnacle of its power. While your dino is summoned, you and the dino gain the following benefits:

Empowered Bite. The dino’s Bite attack deals an extra 1d8 damage (for a total of 2d6 extra damage).

Huge Dino. The dino grows to Huge size.

Pounce. If the dino moves at least 30 feet straight toward a creature and then hits it with a bite attack on the same turn, that target must succeed on a DC 18 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone. If the target is prone, the dino can make one bite attack against it as a bonus action.
