Base Class: Barbarian
You have proven yourself to be a mighty warrior, but your build is needed elsewhere on the field. Whether you are tired of watching your allies suffer or you just want to give your allies some of the glory of battle, you have retired your weapon in favor of mastering the offensive and defensive capabilities of a shield. Gains additional features at 6th, 10th, and 14th level.
Subtle Raging
You can choose to Subtle Rage when you activate your rage. While Subtle Raging, you don't get the extra damage on melee weapon attacks as accounted for on the Rage Damage column of the Barbarian table, but you can cast and concentrate on spells.
Shield Bash
Starting at 3rd level when you choose this Primal Path, you gain the ability to use shields as a weapon, and you gain proficiency with them. Shields count as a melee weapon for you. When you attack with a shield, roll 1d6 + STR modifier and add the shield's AC as a bonus to the damage roll. Add an additional 1d6 to the damage roll at 6th, 10th, and 14th level.
Concussive Blows
On a melee attack, you can choose to imbue that attack to deal an additional 1d4 cold damage and apply a stack of Concussive Blows. Any attacks made against a target that has Concussive Blows will apply an additional stack that causes all stacks on that target to last until the end of the last attacker's next turn. At 4 stacks, the target takes 1d4 cold damage is Stunned for one Round. The target then loses all stacks of Concussive Blows and cannot gain stacks until the end of its next turn. Until the prior effect ends, your melee attacks against that target deal an additional 1d4 cold damage. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses on a long rest. The cold damage for all instances increases to 1d6 at 6th level, and again to 1d8 at 10th level. At 14th level, Concussive Blows can be used an unlimited number of times.
Guardian's Leap
Starting at 6th level, you can use your reaction to leap in front of a target creature within your movement range and cause yourself to be the target of all attacks aimed at them until the end of the current turn. You and the target creature additionally gain +1 to AC until the end of your next turn. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses upon completing a long rest.
Expert Blocker
If an attack roll made against you hits, you can raise your shield defensively as a reaction. Roll a d4 and add the number rolled and the total AC of the shield used to your AC, potentially causing the attack to miss. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per shield. After using all of these charges, your shield gains the Worn property, and it suffers a -1 to its AC until it is repaired by magical or physical means. You cannot use this feature with a Worn shield. Repairing a Worn shield will reset the charges of this feature for that shield.
Glacial Awakening
Starting at 10th level, you gain access to the Glacial Burst and Glacial Fissure spells. CON is your spellcasting ability for these spells. Glacial Burst can be used a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest. Glacial Fissure can be used 2 times per long rest. Both spells increase in power at 14th and 18th Level. Additionally, you gain resistance to cold damage.
Raging Resolve
Starting at 14th Level, while raging, if an attack misses you and you can see the attacker, you gain advantage on your next melee attack against them.
