Base Class: Monk
The goliaths stance widened and suddenly the corridor seemed much smaller, the goblins swarmed forward only to be pushed back. Then, the goliath bellowed, his muscles strained. In the moment that followed, silence fell over the battle. As their wits finally returned to them, the goblins scrambled over each other to flee.
Monks that follow the way of the Colossus pursue the enlightenment of physical strength. The learn to use their strength and bulk to control enemies on the battlefield.
Mighty Blows
Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you learn to leverage your strength to move your foes. When you strike a creature with a Strength based melee attack, you may push the creature 5 feet away from you. If you do so, you may immediately move 5 feet towards the creature without expending movement.
Corded Muscles
Additionally, starting at 3rd level, the bulk of your muscles can provide some defense against blows. You may use your Strength modifier instead of your Dexterity modifier when determining your armor class using the Unarmored Defense feature.
Show of Strength
At 6th level, you can use displays of strength to cow your enemies. As an action, expend 1 ki point. A number of creatures you choose equal to your proficiency bonus must make a Wisdom saving throw against your Ki save DC, or be frightened of you until the start of your next turn.
Additionally at 6th level, you gain proficiency in the intimidation skill. If you already have proficiency in intimidation, you may now add your proficiency bonus twice instead of once, as per expertise. If you already would add your proficiency bonus twice, the ability has no additional effect.
Wide Stance
At 11th level, you learn to adopt a wide stance and channel your strength to halt your foes. As a bonus action, as long as you have at least 30 feet of movement remaining, set your speed to 0 until the start of your next turn. You now occupy a 10 foot square. If a creature enters your reach, you may use your reaction to attempt a melee attack against it.
Additionally, anytime you strike a creature with a melee attack using the martial arts feature, you may expend 1 ki point, when you do so, the struck creature must succeed at a Constitution saving throw against your ki save DC or have it’s speed reduced to 0 until the start of your next turn.
Bulk
At 17t level, your physique has developed to such a degree that you dwarf others of your kind. You gain the following benefits:
- You gain +5 feet of reach on melee attacks.
- You are considered 1 size category larger when determining carrying capacity and for determining what size creatures you can grapple or shove.
- You have advantage on Strength (athletics) checks to grapple any creature of your size or smaller.
