Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks who follow the Way of Chaos harness the unpredictable forces of disorder to become harbingers of fear and turmoil on the battlefield. Embracing the chaotic nature of existence, these monks master techniques that sow confusion and dread among their enemies.

Fearful Strikes

At 3rd level, your strikes carry an aura of unsettling chaos. When you successfully hit a creature with a melee attack, it must make a Wisdom saving throw or become frightened until the end of your next turn. The DC for this saving throw is equal to 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier.

Ephemeral Resilience

Starting at 6th level, you can tap into the chaotic energies around you to temporarily defy death. When you are reduced to 0 hit points but not killed outright, you can use your reaction to remain at 1 hit point instead. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest.

Regretful Retribution

Upon reaching 11th level, your mastery over chaos allows you to turn the remorse of your foes against them. When a creature hits you with a melee attack, it must make a Wisdom saving throw or suffer psychic damage equal to your Monk level. The DC for this saving throw is equal to 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier.

Aura of Discord

At 17th level, your chaotic presence becomes overwhelming. As an action, you can unleash an Aura of Discord, forcing all creatures of your choice within 30 feet of you to make a Wisdom saving throw or become frightened for 1 minute. A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
