Base Class: Bard

Many bards are known for the their muses and the tales of places they have visited in their adventures. These bards seek to do the same in their own heritage. Bards within this college look into the histories of their own ancestors and use them as a muse in order to try seek guidance and bring honor to those that came before them.

Ancestral Spirit

When you join this college at 3rd level, your ancestors allow you to summon a spirit to help protect and guide you. You now know the spell find familiar and it doesn't count against your number of spells known. Additionally, when you first summon your familiar, you pick one of the benefits listed below. You are only under the effect of your chosen benefit id your familiar is within 10 feet of you.

  • Might. You have advantage on strength skill checks.
  • Swiftness, Your movement speed increases by 10 feet.
  • Tenacity. You gain temporary hit points equal to your bard level.
  • Wit. You have advantage on Intelligence skill checks.
  • Poise. You may add an additional 1d4 to all wisdom skill checks and saving throws.
  • Bravery. You may add your Charisma modifier to imitative rolls and you have advantage on rolls to resist the fear condition. 

If you wish to change your benefit to another one on the list then you may choose to do so at the end of a long rest. Additionally, you may use your Bardic inspiration feature through your familiar as if it were yourself, so long as a creature is within range of your familiar.  

Guiding Lineage

Also at 3rd level , you may tell the stories and tales of your ancestors in order to help your friends in certain situations. you may expend a use of your Bardic Inspiration as an action on your turn to give an ally within 60 feet of you, an Ancestral spirit of your choice from the list for a number of minutes equal to your Bardic Inspiration die.

Revered Heritage

Upon reaching 6th level, you begin to learn from your ancestors and gain arcane knowledge that's been passed down your family line for generations.

Choose a spell of 3rd level or lower from any spell list to learn. This spell counts as a bard spell to you, but dosen't count against the number of bard spells you know. This spell can't be replaced when you gain a level in this class. Additionally, whenever you cast this spell using a spell slot higher than it's spell level you gain temporary hit points equal to twice your Charisma modifier (minimum of 2).

Honored Bloodline

At 14th level , you have done all you can to honor the names of your ancestors, and they have rewarded you for it. Whenever you are under the effect of one of the benefits of your Ancestral Spirit feature, you may choose to empower it as a bonus action, allowing the spirit of one of your ancestors to bond with your body and mind for a short time. For 1 minute, the benefit you are currently under is replaced with a new one listed below, respectively.

  • Might. You have advantage on strength skill checks and saving throws, and your carrying capacity is doubled.
  • Swiftness. Your movement speed increases by 20 feet and you may take the Dash action as a bonus action.
  • Tenacity. You gain temporary hit points equal to twice your Bard level and gain resistance to bludgeoning , piercing and slashing damage from non-magical attacks.
  • Wit. You gain advantage on Intelligence skill checks and saving throws , and you know the damage resistances, immunities and invulnerabilities of all creatures within 10 feet of you, if they have any.
  • Poise. You may add an additional 1d6 to all Wisdom skill checks and saving throws and the first time you take the attack action while under the effects of this feature , you may roll with advantage
  • Bravery. You may add twice your Charisma modifier to initiative rolls and you are immune to the fear condition.

Once you use this feature you cannot do so again until you finish a long rest.
