Paladin
Base Class: Paladin

Paladins who choose to swear the oath of Twilight are those who dedicate themselves to the sacred duty of maintaining the delicate equilibrium between light and dark. Guided by a profound connection to twilight, these paladins draw power from the harmonious union of day and night. Their unwavering commitment to the Tenets shape their moral compass and fuels their divine abilities.

Tenets of Twilight

  1. Balance in All Things: Twilight Guardians uphold the importance of balance, recognizing the equal significance of both light and dark in the grand design.

  2. Protectors of the Twilight Realm: Guardians stand as vigilant defenders against the forces of the Tempest, safeguarding a fragile harmony from disruption.

  3. Path of Illumination: To deepen their understanding of the essence of balance, Twilight Guardians embark on a sacred pilgrimage. This journey not only hones their abilities but also serves as a testament to their unwavering dedication.

At the height of their prowess, a Twilight Guardian becomes a Twilight Avatar, embodying the essence of twilight itself. They gain immunity to radiant and necrotic damage, invoke the spirit of balance, and can unleash a potent burst of twilight energy to vanquish foes.

Channel Divinity

When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options.

Twilight's Ward: As a reaction when you or a creature you can see within 30 feet fails a saving throw against a spell or magical effect, you can expend a use of your channel divinity to allow this creature to reroll the saving throw. If this creature is within your Aura of Twilight, they have advantage on this rerolled saving throw.

Ephemeral Eclipse: As an action, you can call upon the ephemeral nature of twilight to cause yourself and a number of allies up to an amount equal to your proficiency bonus to become invisible until the end of your next turn.

Oath Spells

You gain oath spells at the paladin levels listed.

Oath of Devotion Spells

Aura of Twilight

Beginning at 7th level, you and friendly creatures within 10 feet of you gain advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.

At 18th level, the range of this aura increases to 30 feet.

Guardian's Stance

At 15th level, you can adopt the Guardian's Stance as a bonus action on your turn. This stance enhances your defensive capabilities, providing the following benefits for {charismaMod} rounds:

  1. Guardian's Resilience: While in the Guardian's Stance, you and all allied creatures within 10 feet gain a bonus to their AC equal to your Charisma modifier.

  2. Counterstrike: When a creature within your reach targets you or an allied creature with an attack roll, you may use your reaction to make an opportunity attack on the attacking creature. Make a melee weapon attack against the creature. If your attack hits, the targeted creature (Assuming it is Large or Smaller) must make a Strength saving throw of DC {8+proficiencyBonus+charismaMod} or be knocked back 10 feet and fall prone.

You can use this stance {proficiencyBonus} times per short or long rest. Additionally, you can end this stance as a bonus action on your turn.

Avatar of Twilight

At 20th level, you become an embodiment of the twilight, gaining the following benefits:

  • You gain immunity to radiant and necrotic damage.
  • As a reaction, you can impose disadvantage on an attack roll against you or a creature you can see within 30 feet. If this attack still hits, you may then grant advantage to an ally for their next attack roll.
  • Once per long rest, you can unleash a burst of twilight energy as an action, forcing all creatures of your choice within 30 feet to make a Constitution saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failed save, a creature takes 4d10 radiant and 4d10 necrotic damage, or half as much on a successful save.
