Warlock
Base Class: Warlock

Since ancient times, powerful beings from the other realms have come to the material realm in order to tempt and play with the mortals. One of the most common guises of these higher beings was that of a serpent. As eons passed, the image of a powerful serpent has become synonymous with temptation and greed. Genuine serpent gods have since come to fulfill the desires of mortals, though it's still unknown whether they existed before the myths, or if they were born from them.

Adder's Bite

Starting at 1st level, your patron's influence has granted you the ability to infuse your attacks with a potent venom. Once on each of your turns, when you attack a creature with a spell, you can lace the attack with your venom. If the attack hits, the target must make a Constitution saving throw using your Warlock spell DC. On a failed save, the target takes 1d6 poison damage.

At 3rd level, warlocks of the Pact of the Blade can also infuse weapon attacks made with their pact weapon. The poison damage increases as you gain more levels in warlock, becoming 2d6 at 6th, 3d6 at 10th, and 4d6 at 14th. Finally, at 10th level when a creature fails the saving throw for this ability, they become poisoned until the end of your next turn.

Natural Poisoner

Starting at 6th level, you gain resistance to poison damage. Additionally, your abilities and spells ignore resistance to poison damage. At 10th level, you ignore immunity to the poisoned condition.

Body of the Serpent

Starting at 10th level, your skin starts to grow a thin layer of scales and your pupils narrow into sharp slits. You gain blindsight out to a range of 10 ft. Additionally, you gain your choice of either a swim speed for a climb speed of 30 ft.

Climb speed

Gain a climb speed of 30 ft

Swim speed

Gain a swim speed of 30 ft

Ancient Venom

At 14th level, your patron gifts you with the ability to conjure some of its own venom. When you apply your adder's bite you can choose to instead apply your patron's ancient venom. The damage of this deadly dose is double your adder's bite venom, and if the target fails the saving throw they are paralyzed for 1 min. A creature affected the ancient venom can make a new saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect early on a successful save. Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.

Finally, when a creature succeeds on the saving throw against your Adder's bite or ancient venom, they will now take half damage.
