The Versatile fighter studies with anyone who will train him, no matter what class they are! They search out the people able to teach them what the need to pursue their own path.
Branching Out
When you choose this archetype at 3rd level you may choose any main class feature of 3rd level or lower and learn that feature. If you choose a feature that has a prerequisite, you must have that prerequisite to gain the benefits of the feature (ie. you could take the "Channel Divinity" and gain "Turn Undead", but you could NOT gain the Divine Domain effect unless you have the Divine Domain feature).
If you choose a feature that advances when you level, this feature starts at the lowest level possible and will only advance when you reach a Martial Archetype level at 7th, 10th, 15th, or 18th (ie. if you chose "Sneak Attack" it will increase from 1d6 to 2d6 when you reach fighter level 10, and 3d6 when you reach fighter level 18).
Expanding Aptitude
Starting at 7th level, you may either: 1) choose any main class feature of 7th level or lower and learn that feature (you cannot choose a feature that you already have, such as "Extra Attack"); OR 2) gain proficiency with initiative, and a skill. If you choose a feature or feat that has a prerequisite, you must have that prerequisite to take the feature (ie. you could take the "Channel Divinity" and gain "Turn Undead", but you could NOT gain the Divine Domain effect unless you have the Divine Domain feature).
If you choose a feature that advances when you level, this feature starts at the lowest level possible and will only advance when you reach a Martial Archetype level at 10th, 15th, or 18th (ie. if you chose "Sneak Attack" it will increase from 1d6 to 2d6 when you reach fighter level 15).
Fateful Growth
At 10th level, you may either: 1) choose any main class feature of 10th level or lower and learn that feature (you cannot choose a feature that you already have, such as "Extra Attack"); OR 2) gain proficiency with initiative, and a skill (if you have chosen this option before, instead gain proficiency with two skills); OR 3) increase the number of times you can use "Second Wind" from once, to a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a short or long rest. If you choose a feature or feat that has a prerequisite, you must have that prerequisite to gain the benefits of the feature (ie. you could take the "Channel Divinity" and gain "Turn Undead", but you could NOT gain the Divine Domain effect unless you have the Divine Domain feature).
If you choose a feature that advances when you level, this feature starts at the lowest level possible and will only advance when you reach a Martial Archetype level at 15th or 18th (ie. if you chose "Sneak Attack" it will increase from 1d6 to 2d6 when you reach fighter level 18).
Incisive Study
At 15th level, you may either: 1) choose any main class feature of 15th level or lower and learn that feature (you cannot choose a feature that you already have, such as "Extra Attack"); OR 2) gain proficiency with initiative, and a skill (if you have chosen this option before, instead gain proficiency with two skills); OR 3) increase the number of times you can use "Second Wind" from once, to a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a short or long rest; OR 4) learn a Feat. If you choose a feature or feat that has a prerequisite, you must have that prerequisite to gain the benefits of the feature (ie. you could take the "Channel Divinity" and gain "Turn Undead", but you could NOT gain the Divine Domain effect unless you have the Divine Domain feature).
If you choose a feature that advances when you level, the feature starts at the lowest level possible and will only advance when you reach a Martial Archetype level at fighter 18th (ie. if you chose "Sneak Attack" it will NOT increase when you reach fighter level 18, but if you chose "Spellcasting" you will increase to a 2nd level caster when you reach fighter level 18).
Shrewd Adaptability
At 18th level, you may either: 1) choose any main class feature of 18th level or lower and learn that feature (you cannot choose a feature that you already have, such as "Extra Attack"); OR 2) gain proficiency with initiative, and a skill (if you have chosen this option before, instead gain proficiency with two skills); OR 3) increase the number of times you can use "Second Wind" from once, to a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a short or long rest; OR 4) learn a Feat; OR 5) gain 2 additional levels of advancement for any other feature gained from this archetype (ie. if you took the "Spellcasting" feature for Branching Out at fighter level 3, you would now be a 5th level spellcaster, but if you take this option you would be a 7th level caster instead).
If you choose a feature or feat that has a prerequisite, you must have that prerequisite to gain the benefits of the feature (ie. you could take the "Channel Divinity" and gain "Turn Undead", but you could NOT gain the Divine Domain effect unless you have the Divine Domain feature). If you choose a feature that advances when you level, the feature starts at the lowest level possible and will never advance.
