Base Class: Rogue
From within the thin grey line that separates light and shadow, there come those that choose to walk in the narrow paths between. Their cause is beyond good and evil, but often find themselves walking the path of the dark side but for good, or doing good for selfish reasons. These roguish types are often untrustworthy and reliable both at once. When these folk gain their power from the darkness itself, they are said to be walking in shadows.
Tread on Shadows
At 3rd level, when you are in an area of dim light or darkness, when you make a Dexterity (Stealth) check, you become invisible until you are in an area of bright light, are discovered, or you stop hiding.
Awakened Shadow
You can use a bonus action to magically manifest an shadow of yourself in an unoccupied space you can see within 20 feet of you. This shadow is a magical shadow image of you that lasts until it is destroyed, until you dismiss it as a bonus action, until you manifest another shadow, or until you’re incapacitated.
Your shadow has AC 13 + your proficiency bonus, 1 hit point, and immunity to all conditions. If it has to make a saving throw, it uses your saving throw bonus for the roll. It is the same size as you, and it occupies its space. On your turn, you can mentally command the shadow to move up to 30 feet in any direction (no action required). If your shadow is ever more than 120 feet from you at the end of your turn, it is destroyed.
You can use the shadow in the following ways:
As a bonus action, you can teleport, magically swapping places with your shadow at a cost of 15 feet of your movement, regardless of the distance between the two of you. When you take the Attack action on your turn, any attack you make with that action can originate from your space or the shadow’s space. You make this choice for each attack. When a creature that you can see within 5 feet of your shadow moves at least 5 feet away from it, you can use your reaction to make an opportunity attack against that creature as if you were in the Shadow’s space.
The shadow counts as an ally for the purpose of your Sneak Attack feature.
Your shadow deals necrotic damage
Entrance to The Shadow Realm
As a bonus action you can enter the shadow realm. The realm between darkness and light Entering the shadow realm allows you to move to a new location with in 60 ft of it. (For example if you enter the shadows of one room you can exit in the room next to it)
While in the shadow you can not be seen unless the opposing party is in the shadow realm with you or if they are trained in the art of the shadows themselves. You can see them as if you were in the same realm.
You also ignore difficult terrain in the non shadow realm and can pass through objects you normally couldnt
If you restrained entering the shadow realm will allow you to escape the restrained condition.
If you are in full darkness your are unable to enter the shadow realm as there is no light to create shadows
you can use this an equal number of times to your proficiency bonus
Shadow Sense
Beginning at 9th level, you gain the ability to sense movement even while in pitch darkness. As an action on your turn, you can open your senses to your surroundings, granting you tremor sense within 30 feet for 1 minute.
You regain the ability to use this feature after you finish a short or long rest.
Binding of Shadows
At 13th level, you gain the ability to command your shadow to halt the movements of your prey. As a bonus action on your turn, you can have your shadow enter the space of an enemy. That enemy must make a Dexterity saving throw with a DC equal to 8 + your proficiency modifier + your Dexterity modifier. On a failed save, the target will gain the restrained effect for 2 turns.
Strike of The Shadows
At 17th level, you have gained ultimate mastery of your shadow, and it can help you take out your prey. When you use the Attack action to make a melee weapon attack, you can use a bonus action on your turn to have your shadow make a melee weapon attack against an enemy. Its attack bonus and damage are equal to yours, other than any bonuses granted by magical items. This attack can benefit from your Sneak Attack even if you have already used it this turn.
